Very informative. Thanks for posting. Question about the floatiness of the masts and wings. I ride strapless kiting, at the mo when I crash the alu mast and wing I ride obediently tracks downwind to me. The foil sinks and guides the board downwind. What happens when you crash say the 1200? Does it track downwind in a similar way?

Tim, the Armstrong foil will still resubmerge and track down to you. Because of the lightweight design, the time for the foil to tip back into the water compared to slingshot may be a little slower, but it will still do it. We've also found this makes strapless water starts easier on the Armstrong and you don't have to grip the rail as much.

If I buy the masts individually, do they come with the screws to attach the fuelsalage?
@REALmattnuzzo4 жыл бұрын
The mast come with a cover and mounting hardware to mount them to the board. They sell a hardware kit of all the screws seperately.

I can imagine the design and performance of theses foils are amazing, and the product quality is amazing, but something that could get so easily damaged over time be so expensive is too much of a deal breaker for me, I can make 3 wings and a stabilizer for the same price as a Armstrong stabilizer, I rlly do want that board tho too bad it’s 1,200$

I still don't get it why a foil is so expensive? Looks like something that can be make it in a machine tool shop😶.

Eric, that isn't very plausible with this one. Armstrong had a top team of engineers using the best materials, top technology, and it is designed to be able to work with their future designs. So once you buy a foil from Armstrong, it will be compatible with their parts going forward, and the quality will make the part last longer than anything homemade (or in the market even). And that's not to discourage you from trying, a home build can be a ton of fun, but it's like comparing a hot rod from home to a professionally engineered Ferrari. Fun, but not the same performance or quality.

@@REALWatersports coming from the future, where they have Americas cup experts working on this stuff, and it's still compatible ;) Great passion makes great products.
