“Hello Professor” Glad to see that you’re sharing your knowledge outside of Berklee If you really want to learn your instrument then this is the place to start: Jim Stinnett is one of those excellent professors who knows his craft and can show you how to apply yourself with the basics and true fundamentals that you’ll need to become a better musician instead of a bass player. The professor mentions build up the foundations with those fundamentals first like an iceberg which is true lay down the foundation first; when you use quality repetition steps you’ll progress quicker and become more familiar with your instrument so practice these essentials exercises and most important have fun while you do so.

Thank you for this video. I completely relate to your friend you mentioned. I once tried to jam with jazz musicians. I felt like I might as well be dropped off in China and told to speak to the native population! This gives me hope.

I have a Squier Classic Vibe 60's P-Bass in fiesta red as well... It's a wonderful bass!! The only change I did in mine was the pickup: I put Seymour Duncan's Steve Harris Signature. Great pickup!! Did you keep the original ones? By the way: great lessons. I'm enjoying each and every one of them. Thanks!

Thanks. In all my Squier basses I have replaced the stock pickups with Nordstrand, vintage ones.
