I have been playing the bass for all of 4 months. I've been playing keys for almost 30 years and I know music theory. I've been trying to find an online teacher that challenges me but doesn't confuse me. Simple but not just "spoon-feed" me either. This lesson gave me everything I was looking for. Sir you are an amazing teacher and I am so glad that I found you. 30 days of quarantine will be spent on Real Bass Lessons!!!! I can't wait to see where I end up. NOTE: Once I figured out that the bass line was an arpeggio of a minor 7th chord a light bulb went off as far as the construction. Then I could move it around the fretboard at will. The power of the foundation of learning the chord shapes :-)

I need a drum machine like that. What is it? What's it cost? This guy opens with Weather Report's "Cucumber Slumber" by Miroslav Vitous. BTW I'm completely new to this channel. I, too, grew up with MoTown and was a working musician straight out of high school on electric bass whacking at it since 1966 as I recall. Now I'm this gentleman's age and am getting back to all my roots to re-learn the instrument, tunes, doing these lessons to re-work these aging chops. There's so much I never learned out God knows what. I bassist could get work for being a solid Blues and R&B player and I was up next to cats with Wayne Cochran and those clubs and that scene. But use it or lose it, you know? Not played with anyone in too many years. In light of this I come to this channel and some others to play down exercises and to get straight what I didn't all those years ago. This gentleman is a wonderful teacher of this instrument. Scott's Bass Lessons? Idiot stuff. You won't learn one single thing. Here? You learn it all simply, straight ahead. I'm saying this as a veteran of this instrument for over 50 years.
