this is more so his vocal mixing chain.. his "vocal chain" before entering into the daw consists of the Neve 1073 into Tube tech CL1b
@yeckxo8 ай бұрын
As mentioned in the recording section, 251 signal goes into 1073 pre (with no eq). Sometimes it passes through CL1B or TLA-100 with maximum 2 dB of compression.

This is a great process . The mixing process is always tiny decisions and a tug a war between blend and timbre. Great video and good luck to everyone for the giveaway!

Actually that's the official Chris Brown's studio vocals. Only background music is extracted using LALAL.AI

@@yeckxo no it’s not because u can still hear the beat playing in the background softly after u extract it the vocals is already eq and d ess and compress plus you download it from the internet so that means the quality drop

With pultec it's already a bit wider, if the settings are narrow 😅 so i kept it around 0 - 3
@yeckxo8 ай бұрын
I typically set the Q around 8-10, but at 16 kHz, I add a touch of air with a gentle slope.
@joelmathew88338 ай бұрын
If you are using high frequency attenuation in combination with it, it's ok 👍🏻. 8-10 Q may start from the the midrange or below in terms of pultec 😅

There are way too many redundant plugins. What's the point of increasing a frequency if you reduce it with another plugin immediately after.
@cadenboy70568 ай бұрын
To get rid of any unwanted frequencies you may had added or ones you don’t like. I personally would use a subtractive Eq then corrective so when you do boost you don’t have to remove anything right after
@yeckxo8 ай бұрын
To enhance the desired sound, eliminate unwanted frequencies and introduce preferred ones. The dipped frequencies likely stem from room acoustics or the singer's voice resonance. Once removed, apply color EQ to refine the vocals further.

to me i don't like to do alot of cuts i alway's Do it this way first. Low Cut kill rumble to 100hz also cut in 800hz cut around -1db make it Low shelf in this way your vocal got clean and cut throw the mix and do boost with CLA Vocal in treble or use wavesfactory to add color in boost
@yeckxo8 ай бұрын
He tames resonances prior to applying Soothe or any other plugins, ensuring a smoother process. Additionally, opting for CLA Vocals and Spectre proves to be a strategic move to enhance the high frequencies.
