One of the physicists behind the show hides homework that he actually uses for his students in the props in some episodes, it's so funny that paying attention to the background it becomes obvious X)

Im not sure how much this applies in research, but as a CS student i often asked people with no CS background whatsoever if i got stuck. explained the problem in simple terms and got simple solutions of which i didnt think before most of the time. not all of them turned out to be viable but it is interesting how someone who has no training in your field can sometimes kick off an idea you wouldnt have come to exactly because they have no training.

Yow, it's awesome. How you got that. I've been watching and re watching this series for a while now and I've seen some behind the scene footage or interviews that the math on the board are all true, I mean they really contacted people for that to be authentic and one of the people they contacted is a real proffesor and because he's technically part of the show he puts equations and answers on the board of the show and tell his students that if you want some free answers or tips. They should watch the tbbt. Haha. Awesome how you somehow prove that it's a real thing that happened.

Would you react to some episodes from MacGyver with Richard Deen Anderson?
@gregdjentyguy99863 жыл бұрын
Yep, the labels used to invest thousands into recording, production, promotion, touring and a lot more. Clearly the investor is intitled to most of the profit. Now musicians can start out on their own, so lables aren't as vital. On that point of a colleague telling you "it can't be done", that happens in music too lol, being told your ideas are shit by a bandmate hurts your ego but as in science (I think anyway) humbling yourself goes a long way. (Someone said the more you learn, the more you realize how little you know).

First things first: 1.) Great reaction! 2.) One of the scenes you didn't react to was when Sheldon had to correct Raj when Raj agreed to work "with" Sheldon, and Sheldon had to correct him because he said work "for him". Does this actually happen among engineers/physicists? 3.) I kind of wanted to see you do a reaction video with another engineer/physicist, but it may not be a very good idea because it may end up in a fight on who is right and who is wrong. 4.) I just graduated with a mechanical engineering technology degree, and I am having a hard time finding a job! Any chance you can do a video on you giving some tips on finding an engineering job. Also include your past experiences. I have a lot of knowledge that is ready to be applied! 5.) That drawing of an op amp. Reminds me of circuit analysis, the one class that all engineering majors (even me) had to retake.

Sharing credit is not something most scientists like to do. Working with vs for someone....I haven't seen anything that bad. If it's a grad student it's implied they're working for you, a fellow professor is usually working with you. But even if the grad student has questions, professors are more lenient with them because at the graduate level, you're getting closer to the degree of a professor and they see you more as an equal then an undergrad. Getting a job was a long and annoying process. I don't have anything original to share with you...put that resume everywhere you can and talk to people. I would walk into the building of a company you want to work at and ask the front desk if you could speak to an engineer about it and shadow them. Emails will 100% get lost and ignored, but if you show up in person, it's much harder to ignore you.
@phoenixramirez39615 жыл бұрын
Prince was also talking about it which is why a lot of musicians should have their masters.

So saying you have no research whatsoever with the money you’ve been given is kinda like not being able to get into the college you want since you have a bad GPA so you have to do extra credit or in this case contribute to a paper or any form of research at a University

Your analogy with recording artists not owning their own music is incorrect. Yes, there are some who do sign away their publishing rights to their record labels in order to become “signed” (and hopefully famous), but many, many recording artists over the years (and even now) own the rights to their own songs, or at least a very decent share of the rights. It all depends on what type of “deal” the artist or band signs with the label... some can negotiate deals where they retain all of their rights, some may agree to 80%, or 50%, while others may retain less, or, even nothing. It all depends on how much the label wants the artist or bands on their roster, and if they have had previous proven success. New, young artists tend to settle for less (or even nothing) because they often don’t understand how much money they stand to lose by signing away their publishing rights, or, they are aware and sign anyway, because their desire to become famous outweighs their desire for money. So, it’s not true that “all” artists don’t own their own songs, or the rights to them. FWIW

No. They are not taking all the risk. The artist and researcher is also taking the risk of time opportunity cost and reputation risk which translates into financial gains or losses over their lifetime. Don't be so quick to uncritically accept corporatists framing. If the creators and investors had proportionate leverage then a different arrangement could be reached where the creators could receive a percentage of the gains. The fact that they don't is more an indication of imbalance of power than risk/return.

@MrLeet714 жыл бұрын
@@parychahal lol.. I work for a company that makes parts for places like Northrup Grumman, Raytheon, other DoD contractors, NASA, Energy companies. Lots of new tech. Our engineers are mad geniuses that never take into account the machining difficulty and make our lives miserable. They design and we figure out how to machine it. Lots of super alloys like Inconel, Kovar, etc. and extreme tolerances. Those 2 things dont mix well.
@chong36324 жыл бұрын
@@MrLeet71 I feel your pain. I’m an electro-mechanical tech, and it never ceases to amaze me how some engineers will seemingly go out of their way to make a specific part in a machine much harder to disassemble than it needs to be. That particular part is also the part that breaks down most often....
