Exactly. Most of these real estates buildings you see are targeted at those in the diaspora. 90% of Ghanaians can't ever dream of participating in this space. Sigh!

As an investment, while it may make a lot of financial sense to cater to the diaspora, I feel like the word diaspora could be seen as a bad word in the long run if these sort of investments continue. It's not like the old european colonizers but it's your brothers and sisters that have come back to the motherland and they are the ones that are now doing the colonizing and in a way treating those who were not lucky enough to leave to come back with more financial capital as second/third class citizen. To me, investing in such fashion feels morally/financially wrong.... (?) Maybe it's just me...

Everything priced in dollars in Ghana can be paid in Cedis at the prevailing rate. No need to pay in dollars.
