This truly is a piece of art. Love it.

I agree. And he may do art showings in the main space. He could definitely make that space work during the day for a more public function since all residential clues are hidden.

That bathing area is too die for! I had to show it to my daughter who leans towards more modern for when she builds her home here on our land. I really want her to do it so I can walk over and use it!😂 Rhis was a beautiful, striking space, thanks for sharing.

I agree. There's something so timeless about that natural material with the sound of water. Especially when we were there on a hot summer day. It felt so good to go underground, but that space felt like stepping back in time as well (that or a modern spa).

Enjoyed the code switching! When someone doesn't completely master a second language and is enthusiastic about the conversation flip flopping languages is totally natural. Oh, BTW the building and its rehab were things to be excited about.

Amazing details. Usage of natural materials makes it home like despite the metal plates. Also, i like how thought out everything is. Great presentation!

Most architect built homes have STRONG voices that speak volumes about the designer. They can stir much debate, in how the individual relates to the many elements and they are RARELY boring.

Wow! He’s incredibly talented! The finishes are beautiful and look like high-end custom while also looking like they’ll last forever. The cantilever tables are super cool! I would love to see this home after a couple of years of habitation and cultivation of atrium plants, etc. this is definitely one of the neatest places you’ve highlighted.

He was showing us the planters he has installed at that back wall of the house. In a year or two that back wall should be green. Will be a different view through those huge glass doors.

They are definitely still figuring out how to use the space. Ignacio mentioned they could even use the main floor as a gallery space.

We do too. We also fixed up an old house which now has no doors to reveal all its history (same story I guess) which Nico and I love, but our kids are still confused by it. This is it kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5WYgZSKjqyNY8U

The house has its charms, but it seems like a death trap with no easy egress in case of fire. How would someone escape a fire or other emergency if the only way to exit the basement area is blocked? Also, the steel stair treads may look nice, yet the hard, unforgiving surface and sharp corners seems incredibly dangerous. People slip and fall on stairs all the time. The bear roofing looks neat, but isn't it wasteful to not have any insulation? Finally, interior doors serve a purpose in not only do they provide privacy, they also limit sound transmission and provide security. Where does some go if there is a break in the house if there is a violent intruder?
@enriquegarciacota3914Сағат бұрын
Ok I was onboard until the intruder part, that’s a bit too much. If you are building a home with intruders in mind then the problem is not architectural.
@FromDkWithLove2 сағат бұрын
Aw, would've been way cooler if they'd used a raised vent for that cellar skylight and converted it into a centerpiece 10 person dining table with a reinforced glass top. You could then do some kinda cool lighting effect through the vent itself to make it stand out on both levels. Or maybe there's even better ideas out there, point is all that dead space seems like a waste.

Sorry , couldn’t watch it all the way through because all I could think of was what even a moderate earthquake would do to all those old bricks and mortar, as a survivor of the ‘89 quake in Santa Cruz , California.

The upper levels are still a work in progress. Kitchen and downstairs (what they need for everyday living) were their priority at this 1st stage. They want to see what they need bf cramping the place with senseless stuff, which makes sense. Stuff is expensive.
@NR-rv8rzСағат бұрын
Sorry but this guy is mentally ill if that's his dream interior. It has the ambience of a municipal building hallway.
