When Kai took the picture in to show the baby the picture made for his birthday, perhaps Sarah could have been a little more complimentary of his efforts and not given him the bums rush in such an obvious way. Kai seemed upset for quite a spell afterwards. I'm not assigning blame on Sarah for Kai's crosses on his chart. I'm wondering if there is a reason she was insensitive towards a child who came in to see her child or is she always like that.

At last! Why are the postings of the newest episodes on such an errant time-table? They used to always post at a particular midday time on Saturdays, now they are at vastly different timings. We wait all week for the posts - it's the KZbin highlight of the week!

I also have noticed this. I absolutely adore this show and sincerely look forward to the new episodes every week but the past few episodes have been posted on different days/times than usual. As long as Real Families keeps uploading new episodes of Tiny Tearaways I won’t complain because I just really hope that they will continue! 🥰 I know that it’s only a matter of time before they run out of series to upload because these were recorded many years ago and there were only so many recorded, I dread the day they upload the last series! 😭 I wish that they would film new current day series with Dr Tanya, I know that there are countless families that will benefit from her and the house (if it still exists 🙏🏻) and I know myself and sooooo many others would absolutely LOVE to see this show continue and will definitely show our support! 🥰

I wonder if Paul and Sarah are still together. Sarah has built a wall around herself to save herself from hurt. I understand Sarah because I too am very stoic and don't get emotional. This has served me well all my adult life. The difference is I would never allow myself to be hurtful and unkind to others, especially my husband. I believe Sarah is getting her digs in as payback to Paul for his being a disappointment to her since they started a family. While I do feel empathy towards this lady, I also think she is cruel to Paul. Is she aware of how cruel she is though?

Sad but true. Mom complains, Paul does some serious self evaluation and really puts work into understanding Sarah and changing himself for her. She doesn't care if Paul is covered in 14 carat gold, she seems already out.

Why is Kai’s mother talking to him in time out? She is giving him what he wants, attention and communication. She’s picking him up and kissing him for bad behavior. Tanya didn’t say anything about half a cross. I don’t agree with the way Tanya does these at all.

Boy, Sarah is just looking for someone -- ANYone else to blame other than to actually try and make an effort. She might as well just admit that she's decided to give up and leave, because she does not WANT to try anymore. She's done, she's ready to walk away, and stringing Paul AND the boys along (because I think she's prepared to leave them too, now that she sees Paul is quite capable of taking care of them without her help) just seems like too much effort. I'll give her three months tops before she's out of that door, and gone for good. At least the boys will have a good loving father, poor lads.

46:49 minute mark. The look on Tanya's face says it all. I am even confused. Why is Tanya encouraging an ongoing dialogue between big Kai and his mother, while Kai is in timeout. Why not leave the room and shut the door as usual. Have I missed something about Kai's tantrums needing to be addressed differently than all other children that come through the house?
@marylyn662 жыл бұрын
You got me. It's like Dr. Tanya is practicing the "spoiled brat" technique. This reminds me of little Harry from season 2 who had 10 or 20 second timeouts. All Harry had to say was "I'm Sorry Daddy" and timeout was over and Harry would go back out and start again. Usually more high-spirited children have stricter guidelines to follow. It's one warning followed by sufficient time for the child to process the request and follow instructions. Then straight into a traditional timeout when the child doesn't stop the offending behavior. With high energy children parents cannot let anything slide.
@lessehead2 жыл бұрын
@@marylyn66 Yes, Harry’s so-called timeouts taught him that saying I’m sorry was his get out of jail free card. His parents totally missed the mark.

@lessehead Жыл бұрын
Yes, all these kids need to be in preschool as young as possible so they can socialize, learn how to share and play together, follow directions, and learn that the world doesn’t revolve around them. A big part of Kai’s problem was that he was so bored all the time. His mother admitted that she was constantly depressed, they never went anywhere, and their lives were so boring. No wonder why he was constantly acting up! Kids need to be stimulated and kept busy.

When taking your child to a time out, the parent should be walking the child or carry the child away from you, note the way the mother is carrying Kai, also the time out area shouldn’t be a comfy couch. Overall, this is a great video to use as a tool to help parents be trained in how proper discipline and behaviours are ideal.
@marylyn662 жыл бұрын
I too believe carrying a misbehaving child to timeout sends a mixed message. The child has done something that is not allowed but that deed is immediately followed by being held close to the parent then placed on a naughty spot or corner or room for the timeout which makes younger children learning the process struggle against the process if the expectation is to stay there for two minutes. A child taken by the hand and silently but firmly led there then told simply why they are there and the expectation to sit there until timer goes off, the child is more aware he or she is in trouble and mom means business. With a child like Kai one has to use a room or be prepared to return him to the naughty spot several times. It's time consuming but once mom is home it's worth so this little boy becomes aware who is in charge. And mom has to say nothing until he's finished his time. Of course this was several years ago but for educational sake parents need to learn to take charge.
@joeybonavita27392 жыл бұрын
Our timeout is in our living room facing the corner or on the bench in our kitchen. We don’t do the bedroom because that’s where they play and sleep and that’s also mixed messages so that’s kind of wrong but it’s your opinion. You should also leave them and not stay with them. That’s also still giving them attention for bad behavior
@marylyn662 жыл бұрын
@@joeybonavita2739 you are so right Joey. I think Tanya pushes the bedroom on the TV show because it's separate from the other children. And only talk to them when explaining why they are getting T.O. then after for same reason and the apology a la Jo Frost Supernanny.
@joeybonavita27392 жыл бұрын
@@marylyn66 however I do understand the timer. I have 6 other siblings. Madison is 25, sue is 12, Nicholas is 9, Ava is five, Sawyer is 2 now, and Ellie is 8 months. Ava sits in timeout for 5 minutes because she is five and Sawyer sits for two minutes since he’s two. Of course common sense. Timeout should only be one per their age.

Sounds like everyone has a good grasp on discipline in this group. My four are aged 29 - 37 and I didn't even know about timeouts until the last two. We live very rural and I grew up on a farm then raised mine on same farm so before t.o. discipline was always what I got, a chore. And no matter what age my folks always found something to make us kids do so I followed suit. Timeouts are brilliant.

Why a half a cross? Plus he should have been put in a timeout and not allowed to come out of his room until his tantrum was over. Kai's mother is just not getting it. I doubt either of them will have changed much for the better back in their home enviroment. I am very surprised Tanya has not had Natasha put Kai in any timeouts.
@joeybonavita27392 жыл бұрын
Same!!! Like seriously and she should leave him alone too. That’s what a time out is. She’s just feeding into it. That’s probably part of the reason why his behavior got that bad.
