@MsJubjubbird2 жыл бұрын
I think the problem is what happens at home for those kids. The school could give them detention or whatever, but then if they go home and the parent doesn't talk to them about it and says "my little darling would never do that" or makes some excuse then the kid won't learn. Many parents don't want to believe their child is a bully.

Honestly as a parent she should knock on the door of these kids parents and have that conversation with them I mean as MRS Jubjubbird pointed out with some parents they may not do anything but some parents might actually do some because a lot of schools won’t do a thing for bullying at all they let it slip by and I know personally when my brother was being bullied my mother went to the kids houses and their parents were horrified by what their kids had done

Kids are sponges which normally means bullies learn from adults who are around them. Saying things like "you'll learn to do makeup soon" "get contacts eventually" "hit a growth spurt" are just how you pretend you are better than a bully! I won't sit by and allow this beautiful baby girl who may read this comment section (regardless of her age now) think she'll be perfect if things change when she is perfect as is. She is an unpleasant, brutish, unintelligent, actually quite nasty little child. She of course doesn’t deserve to be bullied but is it any surprise she is having trouble making friends? Would you want to be her friend? As for her weight... Would it be a problem if she was smoking 3 packs of cigarettes a day? Because you know being that overweight is quite literally as dangerous as smoking that much a day. You can make as many excuses as you want but she and her mother are going to die 30+ years before their time because of their weight. Is it okay to say she needs to lose weight because her weight is going to kill her? Forget about the bullying. Although losing weight would certainly help her. I think her personality is a bigger issue there.

For me, Jo Frost is an exemplification of gracefully and conscientiously walking the line between compassion and being an authority figure. I’ve always been a huge fan of the respect that she gives to the parents she helps and their struggles, while not invalidating the feelings and experiences of the children she helps. She’s willing to tell someone that they’re not doing right by their children as much as she’s willing to tell a child that they need to change the ways in which they’re acting.

I work with children on the autism spectrum, and most people don't know that this is a two-system disorder: the neurological, AND the digestive system. Many children, diagnosed or not, simply cannot eat certain things due to high sensitivity to certain textures, or any of the nasty preservatives in our foods. I've seen children projectile vomit just from putting a different food in their mouths. What we just witnessed wasn't vomiting--it was actual regurgitation, which is different from vomiting. I've seen that many times. It doesn't come with the nausea--it comes from an instant rejection to something that the gut simply can't handle. Did you know that there are more neurons in the stomach than in the brain? Our GI tracts are "intelligent". They communicate directly in sync with the brain. So, if you have a brain disorder like ASD, your GI neurons are just as sensitive to stimuli as those in your brain.

@MsJubjubbird2 жыл бұрын
But that would be down the list of options without other symptoms present. he seems like a very aware young man. The boy at the start. I heard of eating disorders that limit the types of foods you will eat. The biggest unknown one is called ARFID. Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. More people suffer with this than people think, but it's always blamed as being "Picky Eaters" when, in fact, it's due to anxiety from the texture of other foods that make it not seem like anything but inedible.

I thought the same thing. My boyfriend has been suffering from it, for ages he would not eat anything else than pasta, bread, cheese and tomato sauce. Growing up, he understood his body needed more variety and above all more vegetables (absolutely horrific for him), so he took the resolution to try and eat new things, even if it is just a little bit. That is very brave, I think. The textures of the food are big deal when faced with this kind of problem (soups, mash and juices function well with him). He also realised he did not chew his food the way one is supposed to with all teeth involved, and it's only been making things worse. Now he sees an improvement and feels more confident. He even enjoys new meals ! I wish every person in this situation gets to open up to new food, at their rhythm, if they want to, and to meet understanding people who won't judge them but give them support through their path. Sometimes there is real pain and shame underneath someone we could too easily label a "picky eater".

@@carolethorn3211 not uncalled for when your words sounded polite and nice but if you read your comment as a whole it was you saying that she may grow into beauty or learn how to use makeup. You may have meant well but you said she was very pretty only to turn around and say she'll be a swan in no time and proceeded to list all the ways she may look better as she gets older. She's a child hurting and in my opinion you're apart of the problem. You'll never agree because you don't see the problem with your words and that's unfortunate.

It’s quite obvious that Max has sensory issues so supernanny did not do her best work here. And the mother literally starved his kid. His face of panic when supernanny put the food in the mothers bag, it’s sad. He needs to go to a specialist not supernanny.

Jo is a miracle worker no doubt. I feel really bad for Shanise though. What hasn't been brought up to the mother is that this little girl does have a weight problem and if that's not addressed, not only will she continue to be bullied the rest of her life but the rest of her life will be cut drastically short because of health issues. I understand overeating is a huge problem everywhere. However, it's the parents obligation to instill proper, healthy eating and exercising habits.

Nobody is justified to bully others die to their weight and no overweight person should change only in order not to ne bullied anymore. Often, it does not even work - you change and the bullies immediately find a different reason.

The first mom acts like her kid started giving himself custard cream biscuits. It’d seem like he was given them so often he became addicted. Mom used them as a crutch. Now it’s the kid’s issue & not hers. Tsk tsk.

@@rebeccapawloske3352 that is rare...and a doctor hasn't diagnosed that, so making excuses for a mom that would let her kid eat cookies for 9 years and starve is neglect! Unless she had a Dr. Who has diagnosed him with an eating disorder...laziness is all this is!

Nobody likes being bullied but what is concerning is this little girl's weight; She doesn't want to end up with obesity as she gets older that in turn causes diabetes and heart problems. Maybe her mother could get involved with an exercise and programme. This would be beneficial to her health and she would feel better about herself.

Parents need desperately to start at infancy to use the word “ No “ with conviction behind it. I’ve seen on KZbin dads and moms allowing tiny toddlers to argue with them and laugh like it’s cute. It might be cute when they are tiny but when they get 2 yrs old it’s no longer cute.

Because other than a medical disorder very few children need vitamins. They should be getting it from their food. Us experts know it takes a child up to 10 trys to eat a bite of a food that's different

That boy's uber-picky eating is not unusual. Abraham Lincoln only ate cornbread, corn muffins, corn cake, and bread with eggs. Most of the time he wouldn't eat at all unless he had to. His wife would insists on politicians coming to the White House at breakfast time, otherwise he wouldn't eat. Michael Jackson rarely ate either, preferred carbs, and wouldn't touch meat. At his autopsy the coroner was shocked at how underweight he was.
@DoctorSmartyPants2 жыл бұрын
And apparently, Abraham Lincoln was autistic. Food aversions and pickyness are common traits.
