Great way to explain what you want for Carter at about 14:40. There is no saying, well, I want him to hear because he has a disability, or no going the other way, and saying he is deaf and has to embrace his deafness, so needs to focus on signing. You just want for him to be able to communicate however works best for him, and hope that society can provide that for him....or at least his everyday community of people. I just love how you worded that!
