I too was shocked to see empty Amsterdam streets. When I was there April 2019 it was almost literally impossible to find walking space in the Red Light District. I accidentally bumped (pretty hard) into a big guy about 6 feet 4 inches tall. I apologized and he turned around and said Ay no problem buddy you have a good day! The Netherlands has the tallest and the nicest people in the world.

I'm happy for your discoveries. It's really nice that you find some great items in the canal. The one thing I need to mention, that others who find personal items when magnet fishing and hauling up from the water that is something of value, or a personal nature, is that you ought not to mention or show the type of credit card one finds (Visa, Mastercard, etc), or the brand a particular wallet or clothing is, or what some nice jewelry is made of like 125 carat, etc. Let the person who it belongs to, if they choose to claim it, come to you and identify it with more particular specifics; otherwise, anybody and everyone who sees your video could claim it's theirs when it fact it isn't. See what I mean, my friend?! Otherwise, cheers and never stop enjoying your hobby.

Too bad your magnet doesn’t work on bank notes! Surely there was a bag of notes sitting beside that bag of coins right 🤔 😁
@tallyhorizzla33304 жыл бұрын
Australian notes before the change to polymer used to have a very fine metallic strip incorporated into them as an anti counterfeiting measure. I suppose if you had a very powerful magnet you could have picked them up.

Good on ya Leigh, well done. For information, the two Australian Five Dollar bills are the older notes. The new notes don't look like these do. They are about 10 years old. Australian money is a polymer and has a 3d window and an orange flash vertical through the note. Also, no coins are magnetic. Our $1.00 and $2.00 coins are gold in color with our 50c,20c,10c, and 5 cent coins are silver in color. The metals are a mixture of copper, nickel, and aluminum. 5c, 10c, 20c, and 50c are 75 percent copper and 25 percent nickel. The $1 and $2 are from 92 percent copper, six percent aluminum, and two percent nickel. This gives our $1 and $2 coins a golden color. The $2 coin is 20.45mm round and 2.80mm thick. The $1 coin is 25mm round and 2.8mm thick. Our 50cent coin is octagonal in shape an is 32mm and 2.5mm thick, the 20 cent is round at 28.5mm and 2.2mm thick, the 10cent coin is 23.5mm and 1.8mm thick, the 5 cent coin is 19.4mm and 1.3mm thick with the phasing out of the 5 cent coin happening in the next few years. I have been considering taking up magnet fishing but AU money would not be on my magnet. Leigh would know this as he's from Bondi and still has the good old Aussie way about him. I'm from Perth on the west coast of Australia. Down Under Rocks!!

Ok... so I am TOTALLY HOOKED to this channel! So much so, I really want to try and go magnetfishing. It's really a dream come through, no idea it was a thing. On holiday in the 90s, my brother and I used to fish coins from caves and fountains when our parents weren't watching... and then bought ice-cream or bubblegum lol. Are there any women in magnet fishing?
