The guy put a partial small shovel in the pan😂 on average when I used to pan lynx creek in Prescott Arizona I would pan 2 heaping shovel fulls at once earning $20 to $30 per hour and that was 25-30 years ago , but actually working for a living a personal can handle that much material 😂

I think it's great! Mr. Beast calling panning for gold the lowest paying job ever will keep all the "Hi topper yuppies" out of the rivers and woods! They think it's a waste of time. So we won't have to deal with them when those that know go out. I love it. Absolutely perfect.

Hey Mark I got a question for you how do you mount your fines in a shadowbox do you use wire or glue kind of off the subject of your video

We use a combination of both depending on the objects but most are hot glued in place. We also put an old map as the background to the box. As always thank you for the view and comment!

During the gold rush of the 1800s, thousands of gold panners/miners were making more money than doctors and lawyers at the time. If they were smart, many of them became very rich. The rivers and hills of Northern California was the place to be at the time.
@BrassMedic11 ай бұрын
Yes and even to this day I know of many areas where a person could afford to live off if the gold they could still find in some of these good, productive areas. Thanks for the view and great comment!

KZbin has become mostly just mindless entertainment. 95% of KZbin is stolen videos with made-up stories attached to them. There are still some really good content creators like Mark and others who take the time to make their own original content. You have to go looking for the good stuff.
@BrassMedic11 ай бұрын
This sure is true. It's kind of confusing from the standpoint that the highest paid creators cater to the audience demographics that are the least likely to act on an ad that they see in a video. I guess, as long as the advertisers keep spending the big bucks on adverts going to the wrong demographic, it will continue as is. The algorithm does NOT reward good, quality content just because it's good quality content. I have absolutely no idea why but my videos are shown to a VERY small fraction of my subscriber base. You would think if you have 26k subscribers, all of your videos would get 26k impressions, then leave it up to the viewer to choose whether they want to click on a video or not based on the thumbnail, title and first 29th seconds of preview??! But instead my videos are only shown to less than 10% of my subscriber base. Fir example this particular video has only been shown to 2,100 people. The other 24,000 subscribers I have, never even know I made a new video! It's a very mysterious thing, the algorithm here.... But rest assured, regardless of this, I will continue to make good, quality content whether The algorithm likes it or not! Thanks for the view and kind words!

Mr Beast's demographics are the younger generation of teens to early 30's so most middle aged adults probably won't know him. Thanks again for checking out my videos and for the comment!

He just calls it “””this mechanism””””
@BrassMedic11 ай бұрын
I know I laughed at that too! No way that velideo was made to be seen by my typical demographics of 40 years old to 60 years old. Looks like his content is geared towards the younger generations and at that point, what's the difference between a "Mechanism" and a Classifier? Thank you for the view and awesome comment!

Yeah the area they were in was completely blown out in the early 1900's.

Do you know where they filmed it? You would think that if Dan Hurd was involved in the location recommendation, he would have taken them to a place that was good... but then again, they didn't want to find gold for this skit. Thanks for the view and comment, lmk if you know where they were...

That would have been awesome! And way more fun to watch than the gold panning part. 😝
@thomasanglin175111 ай бұрын
Perhaps if they actually put some material in their pan then they may have found more... The guy with the classifier he has what 7-8 rocks in his pan
@BrassMedic11 ай бұрын
Yeah I noticed that too. I am currently filming 3 different TV shows and I know the way the producers stage things, especially if they don't have any or in this case enough real experts there to supervise and consult with. I'm sure Dan Hurd had his hands full with no less than 10 people to watch over. The film editors just use any shots they like because of framing, focus and lighting with little or no regards to accurately portraying an activity like this. Like out of all the good shots they did that Dan helped them on they probably end up using one where Dan wasn't even involved. But at the end of the day only the real pros are going to notice this the other 99.9% of Mr Beasts viewers won't notice it. Thanks for the view and comment!

I will bet you Mr. Hurd got paid a heck of a lot more than $1 by Mr. Beast that day to take a bunch of dandies out to the local puddle.
@BrassMedic11 ай бұрын
Guaranteed! I wonder if he hesitated at all to be in a video where a guy says you can only make $1 a year panning? Especially him... I mean yeah he was probably paid but it's a bit of a sellout to the hobby of prospecting to be a part of such a video 🤔 Thank you for your view and comment
@georgespalding764011 ай бұрын
@@BrassMedicYou know what's really sad is I could have dug up a couple pounds of dirt in my backyard in SoCal and Panned it and I'll bet I would get more gold than they did in that little speck in the pan in the Mr. Beast video.
@rcadventuresoffical11 ай бұрын
I could see it being the lowest paying job if a person has no clue where to look, what they are doing and isn't in an area where they could get occasionally get lucky 😂. not to mention not having the proper equipment
@BrassMedic11 ай бұрын
The proper equipment and the proper training as bad technique blows all the heavies right out of the pan, getting a dollar a year might be real tough if you only pan once a year too! I see what he was doing with this skit but like somebody else commented above earlier it's actually nice because it keeps a lot of that demographic out of this Hobby now that they are discouraged by it. Thank you for the view and comment!
@randystreasureadventures11 ай бұрын
Right? I will admit, I haven’t paid off my GPX yet, but I could pay for several adventures if I cashed the gold I have found! Maybe Dan didn’t take him to a great spot, because he did not want to cause a stampede, lol!
@BrassMedic11 ай бұрын
Yeah but if he had taken that gang to a good spot it would have ruined the concept of the video where a job could actually pay less than $1 a year. Good thing about your GPX, even though it's not been paid for completely with gold, it's still a really valuable asset that you can always sell. So tough for me to think about such things as finding enough to pay off a gold machine. Bottom line, yes we can only laugh at such a video as we all know even the smallest piece of gold is worth more than $1. Thank you for the view and comment!!
