Something great about this movie is how both of them have flaws. They didn't just make Emily the hero and Luke the villain - instead they're both victims and perpetrators in a toxic relationship. Of course, by the end Luke is inexcusable, but they both should've been better in the first and second acts.

How should Emily have been better in the *first* act?

so, you say, what psycho person, who cut another person with knife can be excusable???? F*ck NO, she inexcusable too!

@@diamond852transferred him to another department, not made promises that she'd promote him for sexual favours, being extra hard on him at work and abusing her authority but this is additionally problematic because 1. They never told HR about their relationship in the first place which is what exaggerated (if not CAUSED) all this in the first place. 2. She was trying to fit in with the big bosses at the company and emulate their behaviours but ultimately was becoming exactly like them. I think they were right in the video - this movie should only be played as a "what NOT to do in the office" and "an HR nightmare" 😂😂

@@chloe.cordeiro transferred him - there is no indication she had the power to do that. Promotion for sex - surely you know she was *joking.* Please remember that Luke was her boyfriend. Being extra hard on him - When? She tried to talk him up to the boss as soon as she was promoted. Becoming like her peers - did you miss where Luke bullied Emily about her dressing saying she looked like a cupcake? He made her change her dressing but you blame her.

Remember - HR exists for the SOLE purpose of protecting the company and miminizing the business risk that the company is exposed to as a result of the actions of its employees. HR does NOT serve / protect the employees for their sake. This is not to say that what they said is untrue

They are pretty much the first line of defense to make sure the company doesn't have a PR nightmare or major lawsuit cause then the company's PR team and Lawyers get involved and they are the real cut-throats.

I knew there were some HR issues with this one but it is so realistic of how women were treated (or maybe still are) treated for a long time. The good thing about this movie is the acting from the two main leads is AMAZING!

This movie should have ended 30 minutes in when they both realized there was a 0% chance this relationship was going to work and one of them MOVED OUT!!!! Instead of continuing to live in an ever escalating toxic sh*t storm.

The movie is more real than any comments here from HR. I was yelled and treated like shit. HR was sitting next to me and she said, that further investigation are not needed because that person who yelled at me is the team lead and she won't move any as long as the team leader won't ask for it.

I feel sorry for anyone who would willingly work for a company like One Crest Capital Partners. If that place is an accurate depiction of Wall Street then something is wrong with that industry...

Such an old-fashioned view. They are working to protect employees rights and also ensure the company gets what it needs to prosper as a business. It's a balance, there are no sides. Hr has to stay (and any self respecting HR practitioner does stay) impartial throughout.
