@mazdakmina94933 жыл бұрын
Yes, what you describe was OJ when he was *on camera.* Keep in mind, most of Cuba Gooding Jr's portrayal of OJ involved what was going on with OJ *behind* the camera, and *behind* the camera, OJ was, basically, almost *exactly* like Cuba Gooding Jr portrayed him. He was *very* emotional and *absolutely nothing* like the guy the world saw and heard on camera! Obviously, there's not a lot of evidence of this (because again, he knew how to act when cameras and recording devices were around), but perhaps the best example of how OJ *actually* was behind the scenes is his phone call with the police during the slow speed car chase (see 7:01-7:25 in the video below. Listen to him groan, wallow, and reveal his true emotions when the cameras aren't on him. Keep in mind, he's doing all of this with a gun to his head as well. Basically, *very* different than the man people saw on the football field, in commercials, in interviews, in movies, and even in the courtroom itself)! And multiple friends and witnesses have confirmed how different he was behind the scenes, both before and after the trial! His own former manager once said, "there is a lot of anger brewing inside of him" (i.e. he's *very* emotional), and even described the difference between him behind-the-scenes and in-front-of-the-camera as "the bad guy becomes the good guy!" kzbin.info/www/bejne/j33QdXiVf76IhLc www.vanityfair.com/style/2017/11/oj-simpson-post-prison-las-vegas So yes, weirdly enough, the fact that so many people think Cuba Gooding Jr did such a "bad job" of playing OJ because he was "so different from the real OJ" is a testament to *how good* he was at playing *the real* OJ! Yes, he acted *nothing* like "the OJ people remember," because "the OJ people remember" (i.e. the OJ *in front* of the camera) was *absolutely nothing* like the OJ *behind* the camera! The fact that Cuba Gooding Jr was *exactly the opposite* of what people thought OJ was shows *how spot on* he got *the actual OJ,* because *the actual OJ* was *also* absolutely nothing like what people thought he was! Hilariously ironic!

I used to think he hired someone too but after watching the new special it basically confirms he did it. If not then who did he hire? Why was OJ's blood all over? This wasnt about whether or not he did it, its just a botched case. Evidence probably was planted but that was just to make it easier to convict. And it was proven evidence was planted but just bc evidence was planted and some guy falsified police reports doesnt make the accused suddenly innocent.

This was a great series, the only person they messed up was OJ, apart from that all the other actors done a great job
@mazdakmina94933 жыл бұрын
It's "scary" (read: mind-blowing and awesome) how accurately they got the set design, costumes, and even the nuances of dialogue in this! If someone misspoke in court, they captured the person misspeaking in the series. If there was a tiny detail on someone's face or facial expression, it was caught by the actors! Truly amazing work by everyone involved! And for the record, I think the most underrated performance of this entire series was that of Kenneth Choi as Lance Ito! First off, let's be clear, Kenneth Choi looks and sounds *nothing* like Lance Ito in real life (below is a link with a picture of Choi next to an *actual* picture of Ito from the trial, and below that is a link that let's you hear what his voice *actually* sounds like. Choi grew up in Chicago and has a very "Chicago-like" accent- posted another video below explaining the Chicago dialect. But in the show, he absolutely *mastered* Judge Ito's voice and dialect, right down to how it changes when it's raised or lowered- voices act differently per person when you raise or lower them, and Choi got Ito's voice changes down *perfectly)!* The costume design (which to be fair, wasn't him. Credit to that goes to the costume designers), the facial expressions, the voice, the timing, and even the tiniest things like how he sits in his chair and how his glasses change position on his nose due to his head movement or even how the lines on his forehead scrunch up at the right time, were *all* nailed *perfectly!* charactermedia.com/kenneth-choi-cast-as-judge-ito-in-american-crime-story-the-people-v-o-j-simpson/ kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5DUnqdtfcxqg9U kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKLLp55qh8idnNU To anyone saying, "they only look alike because all Asians look alike," with all due respect, that is total and utter BS (and that's the "nicest" way I can put it)! Again, the non-costumed Kenneth Choi looks and sounds *nothing* like the actual Judge Lance Ito! His face is thinner and longer, his hair is completely different, and even his voice makes it clear the two grew up in completely different parts of the country! No, Choi looks and sounds like Judge Ito in this series because, combined with amazing costume work, he did his job *outstandingly* and got so many details *so perfect* that he was able to literally trick your brain into thinking, "this is not an actor! I'm looking at the *actual* Judge Ito from my memories decades ago!" Amazing acting work!

They asked Fuhrman those questions because once you plead the 5th you must do the same with every question asked after that!!
@ModKijko6 жыл бұрын
+Santiago Ferrari Well actually, yes, a bit. If you answer any question, it could open the door for follow up questions which you cannot now plead the fifth on. Since there were some excellent lawyers involved in this case, to be safe - Fuhrman's lawyer advised him to plead the fifth on everything. For Fuhrman's lawyer his client's protection was more important than OJ's conviction.

+krissy Missy This is entirely false and you are confusing other people with your ignorant comment. Fuhrman could plead the 5th on whichever question he feels like, but he also has the right to answer if he chooses to. Pleading the 5th for one question does not automatically mean you have to plead the 5th on all other questions.

It’s AMAZING that people want to state that O.J. did it, yet you have a key police officer in Fuhrman pleading the 5th to protect himself from self incrimination of falsifying police reports and planting evidence O.J. Simpson NOT Guilty of physically committing the murders. * I still believe O.J. either knows or hired someone to commit the murders*. Oooooor he could have nothing at all to do with them, Period.

@Something New Reasonable argument but that was not the case. He was being closely monitored by two cops and the judge himself so it would be obvious if he tried pull something like that. His hand was actually swollen but the amount would not prevent the glove to be worn. The gloves were washed several times and went through some kind of freezing process where the gloves reduced in size as a reaction.

@rexx98696 жыл бұрын
@Elvira Montanna well the jury don't usually have a complete understanding of the law, or some of the legal proceedings. Also it's not an unknown fact that many u.s citizens do not have a high level of education, thus allowing for injustices to happen. Maybe if an intro level of what the system is like was implemented in the school curriculum we could have better juries with higher thinking skills

Darden is such a good actor, I hope his character in the MCU eventually becomes Mr. Negative, cause the actor not only is really good, but plays a really similar role to the guy who is Mr. Negative in the Spiderman Game. And he bares some of a likeliness to the character in the game (same ethnicity, hair color, the only thing missing is a being a bit more in shape, but superhero movies have shown us that people can get hella fit for their roles)

they had to call Furhman on the stand because he did find the glove and several of the evidence. Not calling Furhman... the prosecution had to call other cops to say the evidence was there... but the moment they do that... it opens the door the defense to ask them that they didn't find it... then the defense could ask who found it... the cops has to answer Mark Furhman... then the defense will ask where is Mark Furhman... what does that looks like.. they are hiding the racist.

Yeah. Darren Criss is such an amazing actor, but he's completely wasted in the role of the killer. And I was confused when he was cast, given the killer was Filipino-Italian while Criss is Eurasian. He looks almost nothing like the real life killer. Edit: I just realized I'm stupid because Filipino-Italian is just a more specific category of Eurasian and upon a second glance at him in costume the resemblance is close enough, so fuck me.
