No joke it tastes pretty alright. In norway we have rakfisk which is pretty similiar just a bit less rotting, its become a delicacy and its pretty good actually. We also have dryfish google it its really good. And yes my grandparents would buy rakfisk and tørrfisk and eat it on the terrace while drinking wine
