This is a man who doesn't need to speak churchy. He speaks the truth of the Bible. Not saying he's perfect but we need more pastors like this.

I know I am not going to be popular for saying this, but I am truly disappointed with this video. I am not sure I would even state this as a sermon. Mark Driscoll didn't even have a Bible, open a Bible, and talks very little about the Bible. The places he did talk about the Bible there were multiple statements that are not true. For example, Mark stated two women came to Jesus, the woman at the well, and the woman that was going to be stoned. The woman at the well did not come to Jesus. She came for water, and it was only when Jesus came to her was discussions started (John 4:7). Secondly, the woman that was to be stoned did not come to Jesus. She was forced before Jesus due to being caught in the act of adultery, but Jesus saved her life (John 8:3). This video has a lot of psychology. One must be careful with what is being stated. In fact, most of his statements do have some truth, but they are more of a rarity than a norm. I found myself saying, "Well, that could be true, but there are many reasons that statement is not true." For example, Mark states of a time when he raised his hands near a little girl, and she cowered in fear. I have done similar acts and kids naturally want to protect themselves from getting hit, but the fathers were not men with anger problems. They were Christian men; but again, people naturally want to protect themselves. Another example, a daughter not wanting to be hugged is due to a father's anger. I personally know many young women who do not want to be hugged. Their reasons for this have nothing to do with an angry father. My whole point is, 75% of what Mark says may have a hint of truth in it, but the statements he makes should not be applied to all fathers. My concern is that many men will believe these rare and often not true statements made by Mark and it could possibly lead to more damage than good. I would suggest people ask a lot of questions before coming to the conclusions that Mark came to. Lastly, I have heard Mark talk on multiple occasions about his heavy speaking schedule and this video is no different. Videos like these could possibly be a sign that he may need to speak less, study more, and be much more careful about what he states. I see many popular or well-known preachers who simply speak little about the Bible and this is definitely an example of a video that does the same.

Ever heard of the holy spirit giving wisdom in knowledge? You dont need a bible for the holy spirit to work through you

@@Str8Ripper1776 Like I said, "I know that I am not going to be popular." I would agree the Holy Spirit can give you knowledge. I also agree that the Holy Spirit can give you wisdom. I am not denying these things and never said anything in my comments about such. Let me remind you what Jesus said to the woman at the well, "God is spirt, and his worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth." So, two key qualities of true worship are in the Spirit and an in His truth. God's Word is how we evaluate whether people are speaking truth. So, although the Holy Spirit can work through you, the words we say in the Holy Spirit should NEVER contradict God's Word. Mark Driscol tried to make a point about women coming to Jesus and these facts are not biblically true. How else do you challenge false doctrine? Do you not compare it too God's Word? For without God's Word, it is simply man's opinion. I personally do not want man's opinion. I would rather have God's opinion and that comes from His Word. Mark talks a lot about life in this video and little about the Bible. If you would like to talk about statements Mark Driscoll or I personally made in the comments, I would be more than happy to respond. God bless!
