BG Knocc Out was LITERALLY the little brother in the room at the point when they recorded. Apparently the produced beat was longer than expected so they needed a short additional part and his older brother (Dresta, the first feature here) asked him if he wanted to give it a shot freestyle. Didnt quite work out but he came up with a part few days later. He told this story in an interview with Vlad here on yt.

PotawatomiThunderNew It was only watchable the first half, the second half was hugely inaccurate and started showing Dre as a real gangster, when in reality he wasn’t
@PotawatomiThunderNew5 жыл бұрын
James Franco the was 2 specific scenes about Dre in the second half that kinda made me roll my eyes. One is when he went in there and punched that dude and started yelling at everyone when Tupac was recording (which doesn’t make sense since Tupac wasn’t with Death Row at that time). And the other was that car chase scene with the cops. I think he said something about everybody fucking with him and then went on a high speed cop car chase with helicopters and shit. The cops did stop Dre in real life, and I think it was like a significant moment for him, but he got pulled over for drunk driving, I HIGHLY doubt it was as spectacular and epic as they made it look in the movie. Scenes like that bug me because everybody knows Dre was not some kind of badass, like who do you think you’re fooling, you know?
@javieraguilar71175 жыл бұрын

You need to understand the whole backstory of the Dre/Eazy beef and how some statements would later turn out to be true (Dre being treated badly at DR etc..) to really appreciate it. During the first verse there is this part where Dresta (the big guy) raps about how Dre and Snoop diss Eazy in their song “Dre Day“ to which Eazy replies “but Dre Day only made Eazy's payday“. The backstory to this is that during the NWA era Dre was signed as an exclusive producer to Ruthless Records (Eazy's label where NWA was signed too). When they had their falling out and Dre was forming Death Row Records with Suge Knight, Suge and some of his henchmen went to Eazy to force him to release Dre from his exclusive contract with Ruthless Records. In the movie it was portrayed that they beat up Eazy but that apparently never happened. So Eazy signed the release papers but he did with a fake name so the release papers were invalid. The whole thing went to court and Eazy had to be compensated (because Dre released an album on another label while technically still being exclusively signed to Ruthless). Allegedly Eazy made 1.5 million dollars off The Chronic. That is the backstory to that little sentence I quoted in the beginning. “And I hope that your fans understand when ya talk about sprayin me / the same records that ya making are paying me.“ Indeed. RIP Eazy
