Hi Raju, Thank you for the clear and detailed explanation. I truly appreciate the way you present your points-it’s very effective. I wanted to seek your advice regarding an opportunity I’ve received. My employer has offered me an L1B Blanket visa with a annual petitioned salary of $10,4000 , and the city of relocation is Atlanta, Georgia. My current CTC in India is 24 LPA (10 years IT exp). Given this context, do you think it would be a wise decision to move to the U.S. with my spouse and two kids (aged 6 and 8 years)? Looking forward to your insights. Thanks!
@DesiInAmrika26 күн бұрын
Thank you @Skr_Sharma for going through the video. I think offshore companies pay around 100,000K to begin with. It should be find in Atlanta. The major expense will be rent and then car. You will not have much expense for kids education. You will have to pay for extra curricular activities like any game coaching, swimming etc. But those are optional. If I were you, I would surely come to Atlanta. Not because it is too good a package. But for the onsite experience. And to work closely at the client location. It adds a lot to your resume. And once you have some experience at USA, you can always return and bag almost 1.5 to 2 times your current India package. Best wishes. Not to forget, if you like the life in USA, you can always jump the ship to get better package. Please let me know if I need to provide any other information. And if you need any help in Atlanta, please let me know. I can try to connect you with one of my friends. Raju.

Hi @Raju Thank you for your quick response! I’d appreciate it if you could provide insights into the average expenses for a conservative/avg luxury lifestyle in the U.S., specifically in Atlanta. With a $104K package, how much could I realistically save monthly, considering: 1. My wife is a homemaker, no plan to work in the US. 2. With 24 LPA I usually saved 10-12 Lakh(post tax) here in NCR. 3. Visa Type - L1B Blanket (is L1B blanket is differ than L1B, I read somewhere it needs to be renew every year by employer. Is it)? Additionally, how does the cost of living in Atlanta compare to other major U.S. cities or states? Looking forward to your guidance! Thanks

@DesiInAmrika2 ай бұрын
Dear Varun - 30 lakh is a very good package. If you do not have onsite aspirations, you may continue your 30 lakh package. 100k is not that good. But all offshore consultants start with 100 to 110k. You may get 6K per month in hand after tax and insurance. And major expense is rent here. And then a car which you can buy pre-owned. So, you will have a car EMI, car insurance and rent. The emi and car insurance may be max 600$-750$. If you can manage your rent and car emi within 2K to 2.5K, you will be good. Food and other expense will be less than India. If saving 2K USD or little less per month is ok for you in the beginning, you may come. So, if you are ready to compromise in the beginning and you and your spouse are ok to do your own household chores.. then come to USA. Also, the onsite experience will add great weightage to your resume and if you return in 3 or 6 years, you current package should be doubled in India. Best wishes..

Whatever may be the pros or cons of the American life the fact of the matter any family drawing less than six thousand dollars cannot survive in this country.This country on any day out scores India on Three factors.Twnty four hrs uninterupted water Gas and Electricity supply.The infrastructure is simply world class considering the extreme cold conditions which this country faces for most of the Year.Even the infrastruce meaning the Airport Roads etc is such that no one can encounter any Pot holes or Bumps.Most friendly people and courtesy is the By word of this country.

@DesiInAmrika11 ай бұрын
Dear ommeena - I am not sure of exact package. Also, not sure if you can work directly with Pharm D from India. You might have to give some more exams and some more work. Usually Doctors from Indian have to give exam and do residency. Please do some more research. All the BEST. Raju.

YOU WILL BECOME VERY POOR AND HEALTH AND MENTAL PROBLEMS START in USA
@DesiInAmrika6 ай бұрын
it depends. if you plan to stay at 60k for long term, do NOT come. But if you are confident and have the skills to jump to a better paying job, then do come. Your 60k job can be a gateway to enter USA and then you can quickly move to a better paying job. But 60k is too little in USA.

Your all talk is only valid if this 1 crore person is coming back to India post earning in dollars. If not, then your whole talk does hold any point.
@DesiInAmrika6 ай бұрын
@shilpishilp - why do you think this 1 cr person will stay in 1 cr salary for long. It is just the beginning. The salary will only grow. Also, savings have to be invested in right vehicle to make them grow manifold. Netizens here are living with less than that salary. So, high skill immigrants will do better than them.
