REAL Reason Why HELGA (Cynthia Lynn) Left the Show!-- Hogan's Heroes!--Revealed!
Here is the real reason why Cynthia Lynn (Helga) Left Hogan's Heroes and Sigrid Valdis (Hilda) replaced her. So much was happening off camera and much had to do with their relationships with Bob Crane. I love all three actors and appreciate their performances. I respect them very much. This information was already published years ago yet people still want to know why the change from one girl to the other happened. Here is the truth. Enjoy!

Robert truly is a hero, considering the ordeal he went through with his sister. When they were imprisoned in a concentration camp. After everything he went through, and witnessed. He still had the courage to be cast in Hogan's Heroes. He truly is a hero, and a little giant as far as I'm concerned.

(Total speculation). I did enjoy Cynthia's portrayal more than Sigrid, though Sigrid seemed more realistic for the setting. I remember watching a show about Bob Crane. They interviewed two of his children, one from his first marriage and one from his second. The child from the first marriage seemed to adore his father and dismissed anything negative about him. The child from the second marriage seemed to despise Crane, was very bitter about the treatment both he and his mother received from him and fully believed everything negative about his father. Of course, editing can do a lot and things may have been taken out of context.

Desi Arnaz was a womanizer, yes, but not in the same league as Bob Crane. This topic can get a little messy. I’m going to try to sanitize it but Rick please feel free to take it down if you think it’s inappropriate. Bob Crane had a diagnosed addiction and he liked to make “home movies”. He had video equipment that was state of the art for that time. This issue he had was why he and Sigrid Valdis separated or divorced. I believe she still loved him and that they may have gotten back together once he had control of his issue. He had 4 kids from his first marriage and I’m not sure what his relationship with them was like but I’m pretty sure their relationships weren’t so good for the same reason. He also had a son with Sigrid. This son was a child when Bob died. Bob needed to fix the same issue because his visitation time with his son with Sigris was reduced or stopped. He had sought out professional help and was working on his problem. Trouble is that Bob had a buddy who was interested in the same thing as Bob. Bob was famous so he could get things that his buddy wouldn’t have been able to get on his own. Bob was in the process of improving himself and one of the things he had to do to achieve that was to stop hanging around with his buddy. So one night he didn’t lock the door when he went to bed. After he fell asleep someone came in and murdered him. The most likely weapon was Bob’s camera tripod. His buddy was the main suspect and he was put on trial twice but he was never convicted. So the murder goes down as unsolved. Personally I think his buddy did it. I’m not sure why he didn’t get convicted. He’s deceased now so we’ll never know.

@cmm2145

@@lazyhomebody1356 - As far as I know they were consenting adults. I’ve never heard anything that said otherwise and if there had been non-consenting and/or kids or teenagers I think we’d know by now. He was famous and still handsome with some distinguished looking gray at the temples. I doubt he had any trouble finding consenting adults. His buddy, however, was not famous and not handsome. On his own he would not have been able to get the kind of women Bob got. Those women were out of his league. But as long as he could ride on Bob’s coattails he could get Bob’s rejects even though they were out of his league. Bob deciding to try to control his problem for the sake of his kids meant that Bob had to cut it off with his buddy in order to distance himself from anything that might in some way cause Bob to fall back into his old habits. Buddy boy did not like this. He had no intention of giving up his habit at that point and he knew that without Bob he wouldn’t be able to play out of his league anymore. And that would certainly be a motive for him to murder Bob.
@cmm2145
@cmm2145 3 жыл бұрын
@@lazyhomebody1356 - I hadn’t heard that the younger ones were scared of Desi. It doesn’t surprise me. The difference between Bob and Desi was that a lot of people didn’t know about all his extracurricular activities and so women were not necessarily warned beforehand. I think Bob mostly met women in bars or at the dinner theater places where he was working. Everybody and their dog knew about Desi. His reputation preceded him even when he was just starting out. The actresses were most likely warned to be careful because he was a wolf. Lucy knew it before they even started dating but she dated him anyway. He cheated on her when they were dating. One time she caught him in the act. He told her that if she wanted him all to herself that she’d better marry him. So instead of Lucy breaking up with him, she did marry him. But he didn’t stop having side chicks like he said he would. While he was married to Lucy after I Love Lucy took off the younger actresses were probably afraid of him because they knew his reputation and they knew that Lucy was his wife and she had power because she and Desi co-owned the show and later a studio. So the actresses were probably worried that if they didn’t resist his advances, which was not so easy, that Lucy could/would damage or ruin their careers. Barbara Eden was a guest on an episode in the last season. She was very young, just starting out as an actress and very beautiful. In the episode the Ricardos, Mertzes, and Ramsays went to a dinner dance at the country club and I think it was Betty Ramsay’s or somebody’s college age niece who joined them at the dance. She was beautiful of course and had on a skin tight mermaid dress. Barbara said that Desi hit on her, but she turned him down. She also said that Lucy was very nice to her.

The thing we’ll likely never know is the absolute motive for his murder. If we accept it was John Carpenter that ended his life, was it true he was enraged that Crane was planning to make a break with the past and move in a different direction? Or could it have been a lover’s spurned husband? I’ve never believed it was one of the ladies, the violence of the act always seemed to point to a man delivering the powerful blows to his head. Unfortunately it’s likely destined to stay unresolved.

It's hard to top Brenda Benet, whose beauty graced "Hogan's Heroes" with three guest appearances. While there are many who would agree and say just start and end the list with her, to be diplomatic, shall we go on? Tough to surpass for "hottest figure" -- Marianna Hill. Ed. - This is more fun than compiling the Hottest Women of "Columbo" list. Continuing with the military angle, Hill was a cousin, a stunning cousin of U.S. Army General Norman Schwarzkopf; he who left us in 2012). In no particular order, other beauties / fetching females some of whom made it beyond the guard towers of Stalag 13 by way of military escort vehicles; others via secret tunnel passageways right into the barracks: Celeste Yarnell (twice), Ulla Strömstedt (twice), Sabrina Scharf (twice; the exquisite Indian maiden paired with William Shatner's Capt. Kirk on a most memorable "Star Trek" TOS ep.), Marj Dusay (3 times), Susanne Cramer, Barbara McNair, Christiane Schmidtmer, Claudine Longet, Sivi Aberg (Miss Sweden, 1964 -- "in case you forgot"), Angela Dorian (aka Victoria Vetri; this Italian beauty was Playboy's Playmate of the Year, 1968 -- "in case you forgot"), Ann Prentiss (popular, pretty Paula Prentiss's mentally unhinged sister), Lynnette Mettey, Thordis Brandt, 1950s - '60s blonde bombshell, Karen Steele, Leslie Parrish and Marlyn Mason. With a predominantly male cast (with the exception of the sporadic appearances of Klink's secretaries played by Cynthia Lynn and Sigrid Valdis) these woman no doubt livened up the set and received plenty of attention. One can only imagine Bob Crane and Richard Dawson duking it out for top dog. For select segments of the "Hogan's Heroes" fan base, surely some of these names jump out as clear as yesterday; a select few will fall into the 'to die for' category, based on personal preference. This isn't a complete list; that being said, please, 'don't be shy' about adding to it. Finally, "danke" "Raymond Hoagland" for suggesting this exercise.

Another thing: Ford et al. (2015) said that Crane had become friends with the manager of the Windmill Dinner Theater in Scottsdale, where he gave his last performance. He had confided in the manager about his compulsive sexual activity, telling him that sometimes he didn't even know why he did what he did. @@hlynnkeith9334 Latvia has a history that goes back to at least 1201AD, when Teutonic Knights from Germany got the blessing of the Pope to spread the "Crusade" to Latvia, take away our land, make us serfs to work on our own land, build cities such as the capital of Riga (Latvians are very tribal, and had no interest in cities), and in the 18th Century, wrote down our language in Germanic-like text (since we never bothered to write it down). We were of course occupied by Nazis in WWII, and my dad was even made to fight in the "volunteer" Nazi army. According to relatives in Latvia, when the Soviets overran Latvia, my father fled to Germany, where he was held as a POW by the Americans.
