I've actually seen magicians who pierce these veils with one trick in their show. The rest of the show is ok but then they perform one particular trick that just seems different, more connected and the audience feels it. Being in the audience, I had to wonder what made that one part so magical. I believe this video will help magicians discover how to achieve that wonder, and learn where to read more. Excellent.

That's such an interesting insight! You can feel it, even when it's only momentary. Thanks for sharing

Superb video essay! I think Tamariz' reflections gain greater lucidity in the context of his major philosophical ideas that inform his style (E.g. 5 points of magic; Method False Solutions, etc). As magicians, we are keen to use our "skill" in order to hide our technique by erasing the vestige of sleights and misdirecting away from gimmicks. The greater the skill, the more of the skill stays hidden.

I own this book, and I really appreciated this deep dive as you reminded me of one of the best bits from it. It's incredibly helpful to be reminded of the absolute gems that live inside books like this. The Magic Rainbow is one of those books that you have to read many many times. I'd love to see more deep dives like this.

Yeah really enjoyed this topic.I like the scripted magic bit .I am totally against automation of script as though we are robots.🤖 A good story concerning the particular trick/routine done from your own individual self is the most authentic and original way forward.A fresh perspective of a routine can become very interesting and entertaining.Excellent.Thank you.👏👏👏

I really think those veils don't just apply to magic tricks. They work for anything you do. If you are passionate about what you're doing, have more knowledge than you need, and love your boss or customers, etc. -- you will be more successful. All of those veils apply to everything. Thanks for the video.
