Simulation training is used across multiple motorsports and professions, but could it help in MX/SX training? could it be the future to keeping riders healthy? Let me know in the comments below! sub for more moto content ✅

Yeah I think it could be a good add on to doing laps and training at the gym. The hard part is how expensive it would be to create a real feeling simulator. Jumps would be hard to simulate. But I like the idea ✅

I agree,

It would be...more than a little difficult, and expensive, to make a motocross simulation rig. I'm sure it could be done, but there is a lot of movement on a bike when you consider suspension action and lean angle, steering, plus important considerations like engine and wheel gyro effects, plus how the chasis itself responds. Getting it to perform anything like a real bike is going to be difficult, and is probably the main reason it doesn't already exist.

Well said! Totally agree

so like a mechanical bull but a moto? the reason it works so well with cars, trucks and planes is the cockpit seating with our workout motion rigs the way a biker rides is so different and the physics of motocross are so extreme it would take essentially a machine the size/power of an amusement park ride to properly simulate

I could be wrong but I’ve yet to hear or see the kind of technology that would seem to be needed to get legitimate training for Motocross. How do you get the aspects of cardio, agility, gravity, lines, ruts, jumping judgments, scrubs, whoops, berms, & all of the other elements that make Motocross so different than any other Motorsport. Maybe I’m wrong but unless it is was very realistic simulation training, i don’t think there would be much benefit to train on a simulator because if your not getting maximization from your training regiment your competitors will be working on getting any edge over you that’s humanly possible especially with multimillion dollar contracts on the line.

There is no way to mimic the full functionality of a dirt bike for simulation. It'd probably make you worse. Some things just can't be simulated for practice. I mean even in these simulations. These people still put countless hours behind the real seat too.

It would be hard to make it feel real but if there was a way, yes it’s a great idea! Cut down practice or off season wrecks down means more racers competing

I can understand how a race car simulator could help but when you're talking riding a motorcycle over always changing terrain and the forces on the body I don't really think you can truly simulate that.

I mean we got Mx sim and Mx bikes but. Both are played with controller so… still have a few more years to go

It would be great. But in all of those other things you’re only moving your hands and feet and not YOUR center of gravity. In motocross you and your bike are moving

Ok but how would it be built it's a bike the hydraulic system would be crazy

Yeah, someone (way smarter than me) would need to design some crazy sim bike. Maybe Elon Musk? lol

get good on your bike then you will eliminate more risk nothingi is better then more seat time not counting fitness and nutrition

And he was geared up hard...sim will not help at all. At all.
