There’s a lot of buzz around artificial intelligence and green energy companies leading the charge in the next market cycle. It seems like the companies that adapt to these trends are going to see huge growth
@NelleHummell2 күн бұрын
It feels like the market in 2025 could be very different from what we’ve seen in the last few years. Plus, with central banks changing their interest rate strategies and inflation being more controlled, it seems like there could be more stability for long term investors
@DianaTownsend-kj5kj2 күн бұрын
It’s like we’re entering this new era, and the traditional sectors might not be the safe havens they once were. Everyone’s talking about how important it’ll be to diversify into these new industries early, but honestly, it’s hard to know which companies will really thrive
@christopherherbert24072 күн бұрын
Right, and that’s where it gets tricky. The opportunities are there, but it feels like there’s a lot of uncertainty. Some companies might look great now, but who knows if they’ll still be leading in 2025? I mean, think about what happened with tech stocks over the last decade, they went through cycles of massive gains, corrections, and only a few came out stronger
@RandyColby-mj1zm2 күн бұрын
That’s why it’s important to stay flexible. Even in the energy sector, which is traditionally stable, we’re seeing major shifts. Renewables are taking over, but at the same time, oil companies are trying to reinvent themselves with cleaner technologies. It’s hard to predict who will come out on top, but it seems like the ones that embrace innovation will have the best shot.
@LoydJohnson-kp3jv2 күн бұрын

I have a similar feeling about what the outcome will be, but the way there i think is different: At the moment we live through a global dollar shortage, because countries indepted in dollar are struggling big time and china just evaporated billions in housing. Remember: the whole world is short dollars (dollar lending). debts need to be repayed plus interests, so there is always less dollars than debt. if something goes wrong (e.g. china real estate 😅) then the connected world is suddenly experinencing a huge dollar short squeeze (+ margin call).... Thats THE thing which also caused the "financial" or better the monetary crisis 08. Given the yield curve and dollar credit spreads, a similar global dollar short squeeze is likely to happen again. This will bring evaluation and yields down. I'm waiting for the trigger which in the newspaper wrongly will be sold as the root cause of the "whatever-crisis" but its actually a global dollar shortage.

Not when it comes to money supply and inflation. Money supply causes inflation, not tariffs.
@mathewwilson97762 күн бұрын
@@StudioRV8 I don't know why you have to mix concepts. If prices of goods go up, you have inflation. Prices of goods are impacted by many factors. If you take a subset of goods, and you slap tariffs on them, whoever brought them into the country has to pay an additional tax at the border, and he will pass that tax on to you through higher prices, which is inflationary. Either that, or he will stop importing those goods from that place and look for the next cheapest way to sell those goods, likely by importing them from somewhere else at a higher cost than before (if it was cheaper, he would be doing that already), so inflationary, or by producing those goods here at an even higher cost, so even more inflationary. Increasing the money supply obviously exacerbates the problem. But that's a completely separate issue.

A while ago I suggested China Eduation Group, which engages in vocational and secondary education (mostly in China, but also internationally).

P/E is 4 and the dividend yield is 10%. Recent growth is near 20%, with some diluton.
@Amwatson8012 күн бұрын
Aside from the usual negative China sentiment, shares reacted negatively to an impairment charge. Basically the local gov in the region where a school operates established a cap on tuition, so the Group revised the 5-year growth projection for that school lower and they impaired the reduction in fair value.
@Amwatson8012 күн бұрын
As an owner, by the time all existing students graduate you would have already recovered 50% of your investment. And the Group keeps expanding. Even if birth rates collapse, that only becomes an issue more than 15 years out into the future. It seems way too cheap.

Great video! Luckily, we have no obligation to invest!
@mathewwilson97762 күн бұрын
Well, that depends on where you live. If you live in the European freebie-land, maybe not. In USA, if you want survive without working one day, you had better invest. With that said, investing has nothing to do with keepng one's fingers crossed hoping that the S&P500 (and tech in particular) goes up in perpetuity, as most people believe. That is speculating. I agree that we have no obligation to speculate.

If Trump also lowers corporate taxes than the tariffs might not increase the prices of goods.
@mathewwilson97762 күн бұрын
Corporate taxes were already lowered from 35% to 21% in 2017, which represents in big chunk of the serious deficit issue we have. Also, counterparties won't just sit there and take it on the chin: they will retaliate imposing tariffs on US goods, so less US exports, potentially less jobs, less growth... all with multiples at lonny levels. The clown in office doesn't even know who pays the tariffs... he still thinks China pays them.

Imagine the shock that would occur if Verses AI continues to destroy LLMs in head to head challenges. Results of the Atari challenge are coming soon. All of a sudden the market will realize the sunk investments made (data centers, smrs, uranium mining, Nvidia chips) won’t generate the projected revenues. The AI energy crisis won’t happen. The winner take all Nvidia chip race will be over. The chips on every laptop will outperform data centers full of GPUs.

Thanks for the video. It looks like a good time to be in 3 month T-bills, I would rather have a 4% guaranteed risk-free return than a potential 10% return in the S&P and a possible 20-30% loss! i will gladly give up that 10% return for a chance to get back into the market at least 10-20% lower (did that in 2020).
