This moved my heart today. My husband wouldn’t allow me to work when I was younger. I saw it as oppression until I became a mother. Because of what he’s provided, I have been able to raise & homeschool 3 babies. I had graduated and the other 2 are on the way! We didn’t have much, but we never went hungry, & never didn’t have what we needed. I don’t completely agree with that lifestyle now, but when it works, it works. And I wouldn’t trade being able to stay home and BE a mother to my children (especially when they were very young and vulnerable) for anything. Thank you for this post.

Amen. I know too many men looking for women with low self esteem to take care of them so they don’t have to step up. It jus be harder to be a man that what I understand so I won’t disrespect them with criticism but I’ll wish them the strength they lack so they can fulfill their duties as a man to make sure his woman is comfortable and if she has to work to make sure she doesn’t have to work too hard. ❤❤❤

Sorry Minister, its 50/50 or 60/40. According to your Mom analogy if i provide everything for a woman she becomes the child in the relationship. Cleaning and taking care of a house is both people's responsibility also - a man should live on his own first and the woman comes in as a helper and compliment

You would’ve thought that he said your first, middle, last name and Social Security number. Why do you feel called out? If you were genuinely happy, you would not be online crying to us and I’m sure you are doing every woman a favor by not dating. Who wants a geriatric crybaby?

This has nothing to do with 50/50
@vellman11285 ай бұрын
Call it what you want 50/50 or whatever, but because my wife and I work together (pooled our resources), it has made life easier for both of us, at the beginning of our successful 26 yr marriage we had less early on, but were never felt financially strained, from 2 young people growing in the housing projects to thriving home owners in the suburbs who've traveled the world, " team work makes the dream work" a man is not a "mule" MOST men don't earn enough to "THRIVE" on their own STATISTICALLY saying something should be a certain way doesn't change reality a person making $50,000 $28 per hour is struggling in today's economy. My wife and I earn considerably more than this individually. But to expect the average earning man to thrive or pay all the bills on this amount is delusional and selfish, but 2 people earning $50,000 equals $100,000 then they'd be doing "okay" if they manage that well.
@vellman11285 ай бұрын
I agree with most of Farakan's talking points, but has hardly if ever had to work for a living like most many who proclaim to be ministers of God that lTHRIVE off their flock while some of that flock struggles while still supporting them which is not supported in the Bible.

There’s some truth to what he’s saying, but this is a very antiquated and partially chauvinistic perspective. In this day and time, one of the only ways to tell if a woman is truly interested in you and not the things you provide is by her willingness to help. If she never offers and constantly asks, odds are she sees you as a meal ticket. I definitely believe men should be responsible for the lion share of the finances, but with women earning more education than men and experiencing tons of success in a multitude of fields, the “my money is her money and her money is her money” mindset should no longer be the norm.
@Braylen-g9m5 ай бұрын
I do agree with being a provider and that’s no issue for me, but being a provider by buying into the idea of money, turns me away. Globally I think we need to realizes money isn’t worth our time or efforts and the way the economy works isn’t what we need as humans moving forward.
