@@youngnailsinc How do you determine price for the base set? Are some shapes more expensive than others? I've seen some of your guys' how much videos and seen some nails longer than these that are also $90. Is there a formula or something, or is it just $90 for extensions, period?

I would love this!! I just started working as a nail tech after graduating school and find myself already conforming to the client as opposed to having them conform to me. Also, another good lesson for beginners would be how to really get clients to loosen up and stop trying to help you by moving their fingers how they think they should to "help you". Tracey touched on this briefly in this video but didn't have time to go into how to correct that as she was on a time crunch here. Lol. I had a lady really trying to "help" me wiggling her finger everywhere when I was trying to file, prep and apply gel polish on a natural nail and it made it take so much longer than necessary. I just couldn't get her to keep her fingers still and trust that I knew where and how I needed her finger to move. Lol!!

Tracy thank you so much for talking about perfection and trusting yourself 🧡 I have severe PTSD from decades of abuse and paralyzing perfectionism is something that I'm actively unlearning right now. It's a steep learning curve and it's painful and emotional, but it's so important. Especially in this industry. There's an elitist and ableist mentality in a lot of schools and companies that's done a lot of damage, and it's so vital that people hear that they can undo that 🖤

I’m glad I watched this video because ever since I started using a protein bond or primer, my nails lift and pop off easily. So I bought the protein bond from YN because everyone swears by it. And I still had nails completely pop off within days. No matter if I did dip, gel, acrylic, or poly gel. So I stopped using primer altogether and now my nails stay on without fail. But after watching this video, I’m convinced I was just using too much without even realizing. I’m going to try and stick to just putting it in the center of the nail bed and avoid the sidewalls and cuticles.

Awesome video so far! 19:32 in the video I see that a paper form is placed a bit further away from the free edge of her nail. Wouldn't this mean she could possibly get contact dermatitis? Thank you so much for everything you do!
@youngnailsinc2 жыл бұрын
On some clients that have bitten nails (such as in the video), you won't be able to get the form directly under the nail. In these cases, you may get a very small amount of product on the skin. As long as this isn't a regular practice, you shouldn't have issues with contact dermatitis. However, if you are repeatedly getting product on the skin, over time the client may become sensitive to the chemicals. There are ways of customizing your forms to fit a little better on those challenging nails, but sometimes it is unavoidable.
