Just came across this video again. Thought I would give an update 6 years (YT time is a bit short). I studied hard and loved the 4 years of college, I worked with a large automation company for the last 3 years (1 year way PT since I was still in college). This week I moved to The Netherlands for a new job building the machines that make the microchips in nearly every computer device around and travelling all over the world to install them. What a ride it has been, heres to my next chapter and once again thanks to this guy for the video. It literally changed my life.

Valve already had a one built to exact specifications, but it didn't actually have live artillery because realistically it couldn't fit inside at all. The Aperture advert shows its literally flooded with bullets, but the skeleton turret shows that there isn't even room for the bullets to feed into the gun, lest it even have room for the bullets to begin with

Sinan Akkoyun I could probably awnser that question for you, pretty sure it was the “motor” used. I’m saying “motor” bc I don’t actually think it’s really a motor since it’s not going in a circle but rather left and right. So I think that’s why it’s really laggy.

I give it an 8 on a 1 - 10 scale... You should eliminate any and ALL wires leading to it and make it independent with programming ports of course. I forgive the shell not being on as you are working on it. Also you should use a coherent red laser, and have it fire while moving. Final thing.. Does it spazz out if it is tipped over? Ok what I cannot work out is what right minded evil doer is going to approach one of these or even come in range. chances are they would be taken out with an rpg before they are able to actually see anything in their FOV.

like I was saying though. it might also be the way it was programmed. if it's waiting till the target is out of range for it to recalculate and retarget, that could make it reasonable for it to be twitching like that. also, if he could get that thing running off of something small like a smartphone or something, that would be awesome.

IFF is the only current modern technology that would allow it. All Sci-Fi games I have played with any kind of auto-turret based everything off what the IFF is programmed to see. Splinter Cell is the only game I know that went into great detail about it. The way it works in that game is the IFF detects any senors on friendly targets and does not fire at it. Anything else that walks into the prox, field automatically get fired at.
