I have this car. It's awesome. I'd suggest getting the M sport package.....makes it look sweet.

Just want to say you do a great job with your reviews. I've watched a lot of them as I obviously have an interest in cars, but I specifically watch your BMW reviews because that's what I've had for my last two cars and I value your reviews/opinions. Keep up the good work and drive safe.

Just an FYI...@ approx 15:30 into the video...you stated that you can open the tailgate's (upper section) but you couldn't get it to close. Unfortunately this is something that even owners somehow miss. You actually CAN close the tailgate using the same interior button on the door switch panel that opens it. To open the tailgate, you press the button down...to close it, you pull up & hold (that same button) and it will close the tailgate (it also makes an accoustic sound that it is about to close). The driver's door has to be closed when you are using the button. If you release the button, it will stop (as not to crush anything/anyone in the path while it is closing. In some markets, you can even close the tailgate with the remote...in the US, you can code the vehicle to close using the remote (some stupid US DOT rule doesn't permit closing with the remote). And you also have the button(s) on the tailgate that you can press to close it & lock the vehicle (if optioned with comfort access).

Firstly, appreciate the detailed review on this vehicle and agree that the options packages make no sense. Prefer this over the new one which I consider quite ugly. The X5 has four modes; eco, comfort, sport & sport plus. Eco together with active cruise brings with it good fuel economy, especially, when stuck in traffic. Similarly, I have found no lag in sports mode. Can you recall which driving mode you drove in?

Funny as a buyer in the market for the suv/sav in this class. They all option up in some dumb way. You said something key no else did which is all about where value is being placed. At the end of the day in this vehicle segment, it comes down to what do you think you should get for $60-80k vehicle.

Honda accord has remote start, you guys doing reviews should start man up and say these car are not worth the money.

Earl balance Not everyone wants remote start...I'm one of them. I probably would never even use it even if it was optioned on the car...I have no desire to let my car sit and idle for long periods of time unoccupied. And to do so would probably bring the average fuel consumption down to 10 MPGs! LOL. But the 445HP and over 400 ft lbs of torque...yep...that's worth the money...as well as the quality of materials and most of all, the handling. If you want remote start...then its fine that Honda's provide it...but I don't want it nor do I desire that feature. Plus, isn't running your vehicle unoccupied environmentally incorrect? :)

I get 27hwy with my 2013 X5-35i... Solid as a rock. Turbo lag is something u have to modulate for, or u whip lash riders... V8 is useless/pointless in imo... Where u gonna use it? Who needs 5sec 0-60? Really?
