Hey Kevin, I wish I knew Chinese so I could write this comment in Chinese. I want to tell you that your channel is truly golden. I really enjoyed this video even though I don't understand it and can't read the Chinese subtitles. The Sichuan dialects sound really adorable, soft, and dulcet. Sometimes I couldn't tell if they were speaking or singing haha. I am really fond of hearing these different Chinese languages. I am trying to learn more Chinese by watching videos on youtube haha. During my short visit to China a few years ago, I remember these two young Chinese ladies speaking to each other in their mother tongue, and my God, was it pleasant. I lingered around just to hear them talk. I had no idea what they were saying, but I think I heard one word that sounded like a cognate to some word in putonghua. Whatever dialect they were speaking sounded really sweet. I hope your generation and future generations will inherit and spread your amazing languages to future generations. I learned from a Chinese friend that every place in China has its own dialect. That motivates me to travel all over China if I ever have the chance to. I really hope these Sinitic languages can co-exist with putonghua and that you, young ones, will preserve them and make it happen. Remember these languages are the most INDISPENSABLE part of Chinese culture, so please treasure them. Seeing the two non-native speakers in this video learn Sichuan dialects makes me happy. Kevin, I genuinely respect you for showing and promoting these precious languages. I hope to see more of these kinds of videos and other similar content from you. I am sure China has more great, young people like you!

That’s very kind of you Lax, I’m truly moved because of what you just typed up there, and your passion and concern for the preservation of Chinese dialects. As a Chinese person myself I’m proud of my own Sichuanese culture and I’m going to pass it on to the next generation even I’m overseas.
