I looked up Northeastern China, and it's made up of 3 provinces. Can people from different areas within Northeastern China always understand while speaking in their dialects? I noticed that the two young ladies',#2 and #3, and the young man's,#8, tones are the most separable and distinct from the group. I thought they were definitely Northeastern Chinese for sure. Although I couldn't tell who the "fake" ones were, I was right about those three being natives. I had fun listening to this group of Mandarin. I can see why this dialect is popular in China. Northeastern Mandarin is very cool.

yes, we can understand each other to about 85%-90%, 3 province sound pretty much the same to outsider but we can differentiate based on few words

@@TheDaoistheway Good to know. I'm always surprised at how different mandarin dialects sound from putonghua. They're brilliant in their own right.

@@laxsandstorm7828 There are several kinds of guanhua in China. The native guanhua speakers can understand each other to about 70-80%, although their accents may sound quite different. The rest 20-30% ist the original terms in their own dialects. But in Northeastern we have only very few original terms from other cities/towns/regions. The difference mostly depends on the accent. Another unique and interesting thing ist, that we usually introduce ourselves als Northeasterner before we mention our own hometown.
