*REAL* WEEK IN MY LIFE IN SPAIN: living in barcelona as a student

hi everyone! this is a super real and casual week in my life living in barcelona, spain as a grad student from america. I've been doing a lot of cooking and baking, meeting new people, celebrating Julian's birthday, going on weekend trips and basically just trying to make the most of this time before classes start! my grad school orientation is next week so get ready for all my university vlogs!

I’m from Barcelona and it’s so nice seeing the city from another point of view, however it’s also sad to see Passeig de Gracias so freaking empty, it’s usually crowded but since covid it’s like there’s absolutely nobody, I loooooove Barcelona and I can t wait for everything to go back to normal... I really hope you enjoy ur time here!! ❤️

Haha yeah, the white branded cookies (eroski, hacendado, whatever) work just as well. In fact, if you look at the manufacturer of some of the no brand stuff you will find its made by the known brand. Ferretería is the place where they sell screws, hammers, light bulbs and stuff to fix stuff like that haha, the pre ikea generation of course 😁 you were in what we call a bazar or a chinos, cuz its usually Chinese owned. Enjoy Barcelona! 😊

The next time you go to Costa Brava, you should go to a very little town near Palamós called Peratallada, suuuuper beautiful and there is a really good ice crem shop (which has very strange flavours) and the best place for magdalenas (muffins), called "Magdaleneria Cal Tuset". They have so many different flavours and they are absolutely amazing! By the way, very nice video. I'm from BCN but live in the UK and with your cideos I feel closer to home ☺

The brown sugar in Spain is not the same as what we in English speaking countries call brown sugar. When you say brown sugar you mean white sugar that has molasas incorporated. In Spain brown sugar is what we call raw sugar. They have different consistencies and will bake differently. I have found that the closes thing to brown sugar is called panela. It isn't exactly the same as brown sugar but has similar consistency and flavour.

Depends on the city you are going to life. In Madrid they’re starting to get more restrictions but in other cities life is more or less back to normal. Discos are closed and pubs only open until 1:30.

It depends on the autonomic community, for example Madrid is the one which more cases together with Navarra. Where I live there are very few cases, so it depends on where are you going
