IDEA: call the army tank department. Ask for a used rubber pad that goes onto the threads of all beltdriven vehicles. They change them frequently because you cannot use the metal threads in peace time. That rubber pad is ment to be under a lot of stress. How can your shop machine handle that?

LOL! :D That was fun... and it reminded me of the old "The Addams Family" TV shows when "Uncle Fester" would cure his headaches by sticking his head into an ancient book-making press and have "Morticia" slowly tighten the press's wheel and squeeze his head until his head made a popping sound and he felt better. CAUTION: Don't try that headache remedy at home with a modern device such as the hydraulic crimper press seen in the above video. Consult your doctor, first! ;-)

I can crack those common persian/english walnuts in my bare hand, you need to try pressing an American black walnut, they require a press or large hammer. Best to cook them, raw taste is very strong a little like petroleum solvent.
