I love this yoke. I have it paired with the Bravo, and it's a perfect combo. Because I use VKB pedals, I use the yoke mini throttle for toe brakes and it's landing gear handle for parking brake! And I frequently use the tablet holder too.

Great video. It irks me slightly when companies says something is “1:1” and then add a bunch of switches. I get why they do it, practicality. But it is not 1:1 after you add or take away something.

I modded my yoke with the creative use of small bungees I bought at the hardware store, in order to increase the force required to pull on it, and to deflect the yoke sideways (ailerons). This has made all the difference!

Mine has gone back to Thrustmaster for inspection as it started clicking on pitch movements. It's worth noting there is a deadzone on centre roll, you cannot take this out - it's a hardware deadzone. Aside from that, this is a great yoke. I replaced my Honeycomb Alpha with this as I much prefer the tension on both pitch and roll. This and the Honeycomb Bravo are the perfect pairing. Tip: pick up some tennis grip and wrap it around both sides for less of a plastic feeling. You'll get better grip too.

Loved the yoke cam. Flightdeck2sim uses it a lot and it's very interesting to see how a real pilot handles the controls, and how an experienced streamer sets up their sim station. You should use it more! Nice footage of the FO too - what is it with cats and boxes??

This is one of the nicest mid-range Yokes out there (short of getting a Bruner or something facny), it's much nicer than the Honeycomb Alpha I think, especially in pitch, I could never get on with the Alpha, the pitch was too heavy and wanted to return to centre all the time, I felt you fought that rather than being able to get fine control over the pitch which you can in the Thrustmaster boeing. Good review.

Have it for a few months and really made flying Boeings a lot of fun. Really got used to flying with the HUD on the 737 and 787, so finding it hard to handfly the 777. Find the FD a bit hard to follow.

It is indeed something to get used to! The HUD makes a big difference in home simulators as the screens can be a bit hidden away.

Hello Cpt and thanks for a great open and honest review. I have the Boeing yoke and love it! Sadly though I've had to reluctantly switch back to the Honeycomb item for now, due to the physical size of the ThrustMaster. I only have a limited amound of desk space available and not having the space for my keyboard I found to be a major issue. With the shape and size of Honeycombe yoke, I'm able to have it on an underslung shelf below my keyboard, freeing up the desk. I whole heartedly agree though that Boeing yoke is a great piece of kit.

I’ve had this for a couple years and it works great. The throttle feels good but the dial is crap and I don’t use it. The yoke is certainly its strong point. I use the two black buttons on the throttle (right side) for flaps up/down. Makes more sense. I use the triggers on the yoke for Tobii eye tracker. Left button for AP disconnect, right for AT off. Trim up down left side and aileron and rudder trim on the right side. That’s pretty much the extend of my button usage. I rarely touch the rudder or aileron unless in a GA, like the TBM (rudder).

Mind stopped working after 8 months. Sent it back to the manufacturer for repair. Broke after 1 month. Sent it back the second time. Broke again after 5 weeks. Got my money back and ordered the Honeycomb bravo. I was really disappointed because it worked well before it failed. Known issue with the aileron control.

I like your idea of putting the flap selection on the yoke switch. I'm going to reconfigure mine. Unfortunately, my yoke just started making a loud plastic squeaking noise when I pull back, It's only been a year.🤔

They could have done much better on the throttle quadrant. Should have 4 axis, and a better button setup. Having autopilot on there is just strange. They should have stuck with the airbus quadrant layout

My right thumb hat switch and throttle axis are causing the yoke to become Unusable. No real fix by Thrustmaster on this problem. Sending the yoke for repair has not yielded a permeant fix. I love this yoke and hope a solid fix in the future.

Great review Capt! I’ve had many yokes over the years, but this is by far the best for airliners. Used it a lot with the 777, MD-11 and 737 recently. I didn’t get the throttle though. Can’t decide if it’s worth it?

Thanks Ed! Glad you enjoyed it. The throttle has nice friction but otherwise is similar to the Airbus one just in Boeing style. I’m not totally certain how much I’ll use its autopilot feature yet.

How does the sim recognize the auto pilot knob mode? I'm curious to see the keybindings to the outer and inner knobs. The ability to use the same knob for multiple features seems pretty useful even with other controls.

It's a great yoke..... unfortunately for me the first part of the yoke that has become unresponsive and faulty was the right hat switch.......and to send it back to the manufacturers for inspection is such a hassle so I just disabled it.

I have been using one for a year just recently have a wander in yoke which makes keeping yoke steady read where people have attached magnets to stop wandering doesn’t work in my case working with support but not confident they can do anything … so be it

Yoke is great. Throttle quadrant is bad - too plasticky and needed second quadrant to get flaps. Haven’t ever managed to get dial on second quadrant to be used for particular selections separate from first quadrant.

It irritates me that the throttle quadrant only has 3 axis. No commercial airliner has less than 4 (speed brake/2xthrottle/flaps). My ideal set up I think would be thrustmaster flight controls with honeycomb throttles

I wish I knew how crappy the throttle actually was before I bought it. At 120 EUR, I'd expect something wayyy better. It's plastic-y, wobbly, and and overall an absolute piece of plastic crap. It feels like a fisher-price toy, rather than a piece of sim gear. I'd value it closer to 20 EUR. Absolute rip-off. Can't wait to chuck this box of lies in the dumpster once the Honeycomb Bravo arrives.
