Great video Hawk! The normalization setting can be disabled on Spotify & Apple Music by the user anyway, so there is really little incentive to master a song to the recommended level set by these platforms. Sometimes it’s also the frequency balance that will affect the perceived loudness, more so than how much the limiter is being pushed. So EQing or some multi-band processings will do the job, making the final limiter to work less.

Thanks for watching! Yeah, totally, though I don't think most end users know how to disable the normalization setting in Spotify. Plus, besides frequency, compression also plays a big part in how loud the master sounds/is perceived. Proper compression settings for your master is probably a whole other video!

Great video. How can we measure lufs , rms of music, or videos in KZbin. Also it is happened the same as TV in the past. The commercial appears very load, KZbin advertising sound very load if it compare to videos.

KZbin, like other streaming services claim to turn the music down to their LUFS standards. But you could use another program to capture the stream and check its peak and LUFS. For example, rogueamoeba.com/audiohijack/
