Since notes in C major scale = A minor I just play A pentatonic over a C song.

Thanks for the vid. Question not specifically vid related, but how do you think guitarists like Hendrix and Santana developed solos without formal music theory lessons? (At a young age too) I believe they are playing/mixing major and minor pentatonic, but how did they know which scales to play/develop for a given song?
