Life long Martial artist with multiple black belts. I can say this is very good training. I really enjoyed how he showed it is easy to take a gun but hard to take a knife. This is great to show the female students because oftentimes their firearms are taken from them.

Very good video.. As someone who has done martial arts and Combatives For 4 decades, there is some valuable information. . Not always a fan of the double hand grab, especially if the hand is mobile and pumping but understand, that weapon fixation by an attacker is very common.. We will use this double hand grab as opportunistic , as it has its place and easily drilled , our training is more similar to Baraw Sugbo , which will require two hand on one , it is forcing the attacker work , whilst you gain control of the weapon, it’s random , reactive and challenges both attacker and defender but we drill this as well as the Kalah Israeli knife defence , to prevent arm pumping , pulling the knife from a double grip , which isn’t that hard, it’s an attacking defense..It’s a single technique applied to many scenarios. I was attacked by a knife when I was 19 and the double grip didn’t quite prevent a slash and a stab , nearly losing some fingers but saved my life ..The Kalah type prevention I have used working doors , it worked for “me” Any training is better than none as you will fall to the level of your training, that may be the difference. Situational awareness is paramount , body language and eye contact, people walking towards you but looking around , having clothing ready for a defense, train on loose gravel , grass , near cars , turn off headphone and look around.. This I a valuable video and thank you

I got my wife a Toor Knives Viper. Runs about 150ish. The sheath is high quality but you need to buy some way to mount it. I suggest a Ulti-clip. It's light and low profile. The knife itself comes razor sharp, it's sturdy, light and the ring will help keep it in places. My wife wears it mostly when she runs. She's 5'4" at 115lbs. It fits her well. Something to consider is if you did have to use it for self defense, you are out 150. It's quality 150 though. Another knife to check out is The Splinter from Warrior Poet Society. It's on sale for 65 now. Good luck in your search and stay safe.

That's a great question! As far as self defense goes, Krav Maga is a good one to go with, but a combination of Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing would be a great next best thing!
@cecil36023 ай бұрын
Krav Maga , jiu-justu and kickboxing are pretty much good for weaponry , striking and grappling. Which you need a pretty much life defence
@cecil36023 ай бұрын
I do multiple martial arts and someday I’ll learn Krav Maga . But you need to think the martial arts that you want to learn and need yourself to defend yourself.

First off thank you for this video! Truly am grateful and we will be rewatching and learning from it multiple times, as just a few weeks ago someone tried breaking into our homestead with my better half alone with the dog in the house late at night. This was in rural area in middle of nowhere and never thought any kind of thing like this would happen. I work away weeks at a time so she would have to defend herself as it took cops almost 45mins to arrive. I can't imagine what may have happend if they got it. The person seen her inside and terrorized her running around beating on the windows and doors. Luckily they ended up being so wacked out on drugs they had hard time functioning, when others came to help and contain him. In c0mmunist Canada they don't offer any kind of training that we can find, and the government would rather punish you for defending yourself, than the person breaking in! Govt is also coming after all the guns too. It's total clown show and rodeo up here. Anyways thank you again for this amazing video and information. God bless u guys.

Surprised you didn't mention to get off your phone in public, or at least left it in the edit. Walking from parking lot to store, store to car, sitting in the parking lot scrolling while doors unlocked, etc.

@@hessdefenseaware, but still doesn’t call out phones specifically. He’s talking eye contact and generalization distraction here. I’ve seen people look right at something while on their phone and not be able to describe what they just looked at 10ft away.
