Thanks for this review Grant! I had to laugh seeing you in this kind of comical. I would be extremely upset if I made this purchase and it didn't get 35 MPG or better. Now I know my '86 Chevy Sprint was a tin can but I did only city driving and I was always over 50MPG except in severe winter conditions which I was still impressed with the right tires I never got stuck. We had a ton of snow back then right up to the head lights many days.

Microcars will get great low-speed stop and go fuel economy as the engines are small and so use little gas when idling, and the weights are light which means less mass to accelerate. Highway cruising economy on the other hand is almost 100% a matter of aerodynamics, the frontal area times the drag coefficient. The iQ doesn't have that small a frontal area, as its quite wide for its size and towers over say a Corvette. Shorter bodies are more turbulent as the air doesnt have time to stabilize.
