Great job Zack! Oh how you’ve grown. I love knowing that I can rely on you (your channel) for ‘past’ reviews. The database of reviews you have always impresses me. Thanks.

I own one and this is the best and most accurate review I've watched. I always remove the rear headrests and lay them on the back seat and then drop the seats, it's perfectly flat. I got the 1.0 CVT and its great, my only gripe is that on sunny days you get quite a lot of glare from the shiny cd port on the dash
@merouby4 жыл бұрын
If you have the double-din radio (optional) you don't have the glare.

i bought this car a 1 1/2 month ago and i have spent 1000 miles in this car already probably spent about 100 dollars in gas..very very economic..i live in new york and only drive it in the city and its boroughs..i love it,i haven't seen anyone else driving a scion iq around here yet..this car is awesome runs fast i can put my 3 big bags of 4 months of laudry in the back...i bought it to save but i'm getting the rims cause i already lost 2 of my wheel covers,recomend it to single or couples!

I have both a Smart and the IQ and this is the best and most honest report I have seen. I do find they both get the same MPG so would disagree with one remark. No point in anyone comparing with larger cars because if less is more to you then micro cars are tops. I also have a five passenger car and rarely use it because of this, you just do not need a back seat unless there's more than two.

I believe the Nissan Versa is a much longer car in relation to the IQ or Smart Fortwo. I live in Chicago (Lincoln Park) where it is very hard to find parking spaces that are big enough for a Nissan Versa. By contrast, the parking issues in Chicago are greatly reduced with the IQ or Smart car. Yes, if one needs back seats, the Nissan is a wiser decision. Otherwise, the IQ is less of a headache in the city.

great review. just throwing it out there. just because it is bigger which makes it possible to have back row seating, doesn't really make it "better" than the smart. Each of these cars were designed to be what they are. The smart wanted to be the smallest which means 2 people max. the iq was designed to be slightly bigger with 4 peopleish. There is no better or worse car, just different decisions made from both companies. Its not about which car is better, its about which car is better for you.

10/10! This is gonna be my very first car and I was looking for something small and convenient to drive in, I love mini cars also in love with the logo as a highschooler with a small family, this would fit perfectly for me and very affordable!

I love my smart, but considering it's been parked for the last 2 years because of major problems I think this is what I'll be buying next. Have a second hand Yaris at the moment that has 220,000 kms and very few issues. Love the idea of a "smart style" car without the worry of constant problems. And just for the record my smart is a 450 diesel. I know the gas versions were much more reliable.
@michaelm.maslowski62911 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your story. If things go as planned, I will be trading my 450 diesel fortwo and getting a new iQ. My experience with the 450 cdi has been positive, but it has less than 100 kkm, so you never know. One thing for certain, it has a reputation of being capricious.

I love how they try to make a differential between the Smart car and the cheap IQ, if you’re buying a mini car you don’t want a backseat so that’s not a selling point for the mini lovers

@Motormouthcanada Tried to sit in one of these today (I am 6 feet tall), there is nowhere near as much headroom in the iQ as is available in the smart.

im really happy having this car. its spaceous, fun, agile and it looks very good. only thing i wish i had is 1.3 motor instead of 1.0. otherwise i give this car 9/10

It’s cute and whenever you see someone with the same car it’s a pretty cool run in, gas is not what it seems tho, to fill it to fill takes about 13.00 and only gets maybe 25-30 mpg Audio- sucks it has no bass

The legroom for the driver and passenger is amazing but the the fuel economy is nowhere near ratings. I would say it is $2,500 over priced.

forgot to mention...that since i got this car i find parking anywhere now in new york city...there are lot of morons who can't park and leave space enough for my IQ to fit in : )... of course i have a bigger car to go to a barbecue and beach with my friends but to work and to hang around with 2 more friends this car is perfect!! yes you can get a bigger car but you wouldn't believe how many people looks and likes this car!!!! so far i'm happy with this purchase.

The EPA rates the highway fuel economy of the iQ below that of the smart. I have a much easier time believing the EPA numbers over the Canadian figures. Headroom in the smart appears much more plentiful than the iQ. Is a 6 and a half foot tall person going to be comfortable in the iQ?
@theknightlynews12 жыл бұрын
how is it that the Chevy Cruze, a car twice the size, gets better fuel economy than this thing?
@carsonphillips5246 жыл бұрын
Better mpg in what way? highway? maybe if it's 100% highway driving. If you drive with a mix of city and highway then a Cruze is not going to beat the iQ in fuel economy at all. The Cruze only gets 26 mpg city. Combined city/highway mpg is a more accurate way of looking at fuel economy since the majority of people drive in both settings. If your driving mostly in town then there's no competition, the iQ stays in the upper 30's where the Cruze would stay in the upper 20's.

Looking at the price of the iQ, I'd take a Toyota Corolla CE in a heartbeat since the MSRPs are nearly identical.

A CVT has virtually infinite ratios, so describing it as a one-speed gearbox isn't very accurate.
