I know gatekeeping is bad but this movie seems to continue losing its meaning the more people watch it. I watched this movie with no one, walked by myself through the hot Florida sun from my campus to an empty movie theater an hour away (walking, car was probably like 15 min), and the largest message I took from the movie is that we all want to be someone special but we are only as special as our actions, but instead of that message being taken it seems everyone else just wanted to be Ryan Gosling.

People often watch it for the clips now but some of them still get the meaning of it. For example I watched it this summer and it was so deep and philosophical that I watched it a second time the next day, then I read the book. So, many people don't see it as a message or a distopya anymore but some of us still do
