It is kinda like saying how full a bucket is by the depth of the water. You don't have 5 inches of volume (water), just like you don't have 120V of energy. Its just wrong.

what’s even more infuriating is that they run on 230V in most countries like the UK where RCE and I live, and in countries where they use 120V, it’s double phase so it’s 240V effectively anyway!

As an electrical engineer games and data sheets that refer to "volts" as power are so cringy haha. I can't tell you how many times I've had to comb through data sheets looking at power requirements (volts, phases, amps, etc.) and all they list under power is voltage and I'm just sitting there like "I have learned nothing about ensuring this piece of equipment will be properly designed around".... lol

I wish they could just make electrons per second a measurement. But I mean you could sort of see volts like the water pressure, and amperes are the actual water in liters per second. A 10 watt device at 5 volt needs 2ampere per hour right, so how about a water wheel device needs 10 energy, which are 5 pressure, using 2 water in total. Or it could be 1 pressure, but then you need 10 water If only I could translate this into joule, psi and liters lmao
