In my opinion, engineer is second best hull in the game (after spectre) and architect is literally the worst hull. So this game is very fitting for channel. Although, lack of bridges is disappointing

Hey Matt, a couple of tips on the drones: you can change their formation by pressing tab. This can do a bunch of things like doubling the attack speed depending on the formation. Also, the drones will take damage for you and if you want to keep them alive, you need to actively try to stop them from taking damage. They also synergise really well with the engineer body, so that's an added bonus.

Engineer is quite fun! The main advantage of it is that you can combo powerful drones and whatnot using the increased construct limit- what is one spaceship compared to a spaceship, a whole bunch of turrets and drones, and various other things of that description?

Halfway through the video, just a friendly tip. The Railgun scales off of velocity. The ideal situation would be to max out the velocity upgrade tree as soon as possible. After that, having things like burn damage or charged shot makes the railgun insanely powerful, especially with burst. I once got the wild mods that gave multiple copies of the next upgrade you picked and got 7 twin-strike mods. After that I got burst fire, which gave me a burst-fire railgun fan that annihilated everything in front of me. I was really squishy though so I ended up dying.

The ultra-rare wild mod Grandeur is one of the most powerful upgrades in the game. the crash damage isn't the main point of the upgrade, the 2 extra upgrades are, and you had obsession witch will double the effects to make it 4 extra upgrades.

Really cool mathematical tidbit: the map for games like this is analogous to the surface of a donut. If you wanted to model this game's universe as the surface of a solid, you'd want to connect the left and right edges into a cylinder. Then, wrapping the top round edge of the cylinder to the bottom edge, you'd have a donut shape!

You can skip the first 3 upgrades, it doesn't waste the level and just moves you on to the next set of choices. This does not cost anything but only works on those first 3 gear choices.

There is a body named architeckt. the diffrence between that one and the engineer is that the engineer allows you to build more constructs faster, while the architekt only allows you to have one at a time, but a crazy powerful one.

This. Specter is basically no good bc you need to move, and shoot. The cloak effect is lost all the time unless you have a God like setup where you don't move or shoot.

This game is less an asteroids copy and more like those bullet hell games that started to pop out in Japan years ago. I do remember some of Touhou, Donpachi and Ikaruga being among the most popular back then (and probably now) in Japan. For those interested, Touhou Koumakyou is the one that easily beat Ikaruga and also the best old bullet hell game I'd recommend you to play. Touhou games basically made these shooting games more interesting, with anime girls, a lore, and many modding options present to these days (also in Nova Drifters). There were some arcades that ran games on x86 based systems in Japan where I used to play. Also, those Touhou games were a staple in comiket, and created a franchise and a very big fan base. Doujinshis were pretty common featuring Touhou girls, too.

I cant believe how you managed to choose the only Body/Weapon combination that doesnt work. Specter body doesnt work with lancem because you have to shoot constantly, so you cant stealth and get the bonus dmg from the body.

I've has this game since 2019. I really like to combine constructs (Drones, Mines etc) with grenade. There are upgrades that give your constructs your weapon and then with Splinter its just a lot of explosions
