After being hospitalized twice with pneumonia & the other, double pneumonia, there is no way, I would be out in a canoe, lying down or even sitting up on a cold day. You value taking care of your respiratory after a bout with pneumonia, especially if you just recovered from having pneumonia. The detectives did a superb job of finding out the truth. The videotaping of the body, covering her head & hands before bringing up her body, just listening to what they did, they really treated her so well, to be able to nail the perpetrator. Fantastic job.

I'm guessing not legally married so not necessary to obtain a divorce? He tries to kill himself?? Really though? If he felt a scrap of guilt over what he'd thought he'd done, killed her after strangling her (which BTW takes 4mins to manually strangle someone so that they are dead), he'd have thrown himself in the lake! Gutless. I'm not saying he should have thrown himself in the lake but rather highlighting his weak guilt trip. Jail is the best place for him and from all that the Police discovered well deserved. If only when the murderer is jailed it is for as long as they draw breath. Jan isn't breathing any more thanks to this selfish 'person'.

1996- Ontario - Water gives life water brings death ! A Man walking by sees a man in difficulty in a lake clinging to an overturned boat.and called police. The man was identified as Vincent Malcolm and his wife, Jan Marshall was still missing and according to Vincent, the two had gone on a boating trip and the canoe had capsized. Police were not convinced of Vincent’s story and nobody had seen Jan in the canoe with Vincent nor had seen the canoe capsizing. After many searches in the lake divers found Joan’s body at the bottom of the lake. A large patio stone was found in the dead woman’s sleeping bag at the bottom of the lake. Investigators suspected Jan could have been killed at home and later put on the lake. Autopsy found bruising on Jan’s neck and shoulders.
