The judicial system is primarily set up to self serve. The magistrates courts are only to make money that's why they try and persuade to plea bargain even if your innocent because its a lesser penalty but a garentees penalty for them to make money from the fines and your birth certificate..... If I didn't have any empathy, and only cared about me and taking care of #1, then this would be the ultimate success for me. I would have gained a wealthy house/estate, tens of thousands of pounds, and probably other things besides, and the only punishment I got was a slap on the wrist. I only serve 4 months jailed, then I get to walk free and start all over again. Again, if I had no empathy, this would be a massive win for me. I could keep scamming as much as I wanted, get locked up for short periods of time, then go out and con more people, making tons of money. Why would he stop with punishments this lenient?
