I got it in early 2020.. during the start of Convid666 - and just starting to get into this week ! When I first got it.. I learned the basics to at least get the gig... - got it all setup with Serato and laptop.. got a mirror laptop ready as well - then started dumping my classics from Vinyl to Digital - mastering it for playback in club, setting cue points all the little important stuff- and now I'm finally at the point where I can start doing a deep dive into this mixer. Wow time flies!! LOL ..lucky you to get it when it first came out. I'm reluctant to do that with modern tech .

very clear and concsise review of the internal effects. in 2022 - this thing is still a beast. Just waiting for them to adapt that firmware they made for the Atrak model to the 72.. the 'fader' control for the efffects... i forget what they call it. If the 70 can do it.. so can the 72. Maybe I shouldn't be holding my breath though.. FX are not at the forefront of my mixing..but they are nice to have. I tend to go for strong material and quality live mixing / sound quality first..and then the little bells and whistles. Who's still converting must have tracks from vinyl to digital.. hands up.!!!! peace

I currently have an s11. When I use echo out, and I immediately switch to another effect, I’m still able to hear the tail end of the previous effect without it cutting it off. Do you know if the 72 can do this as well?

Yes for sure! This version is getting almost all the other updates via firmware except for the faders which can be purchased separately if you feel they need to be changed.

Yeah man you can get a non MKII for an amazing price and it's the same thing.. unless you absolutely need the new faders. I have had zero problems with the version 3 - I can do all my cuts and more on the stock faders. Dial in your cuts..and away you go.

Great video thanks Karim. I find when I disengage an effect with the paddle it is off beat in my headphones until I turn off effect by pressing on the effect button. The problem is when I turn off the effect using the button it appears to skip a beat in order to catch back up. I’m not sure if anyone else has experienced this. Any help would be great! 😐

I don't really listen to effects in the headphones per-se... Are you doing this while mixing 2 tracks together? I can try it on my own mixer, but I don't think I've done this before.

@@kareemthedream6084 thanks for your reply. It actually only happens with Serato effects, the flex effects seem fine. Perhaps a better way to explain this is that what’s coming out through the master output speaker is not in sync with what’s on the screen while Serato effect button is on. If I mix in a track and have beats matched on laptop/72 screen it’s off beat through master speaker… until I turn off effect button. I hope that makes sense!

Hi can you midi map the filter knob to do a filter loop roll. It's something like a repeat sound effect when you turn the filter knob can it be mapped filter FX

You can map anything on the mixer to anything that is mapable in serato DJ. So you can check to see if you can map that feature in Serato and you should be able to do it here or on any MIDI product...

@@jersey21212121 You can get pretty close ... as each manufacture effect banks work slightly different from each other. but to be fair.. don't rely on effects for your sound. it ends up being pretty generic in the end. Focus on quality music and the tight mix first.. and not so much on the bells and whistles.

It's a video camera only and its called the Panasonic 750.

How do you toggle between tap bpm and auto bpm for flex FX?

There is a TAP Button above the screen to the right. You can just start manually tapping in the BPM. To turn it back I believe you have to hold shift and press Tap again or something like that...

When you are not using serato, I believe the pads only do pad FX from inside the mixer. That's it...

One thing that was a letdown is the rest of the effects and the Paddle are useless if you play real vinyl cuts live. Kinda weird to me.. at least have some basic effects ready without having to touch the kaos pad thing.

That’s not true. You can use all the internal effects with the paddles without Serato DJ. They have hardware and software effects. You can use them all on live sources including vinyl and you don’t have to use the pad…

@@kareemthedream6084 what the? When I put it into Analogue mode all the effects aside from the touchscreen effects become unusable..the lights turn off even . How do you utilize the Serato effects without serato?
