S. T.S. I think you’ll find even fully fledged adults have help when they give birth to multiples. If she was ‘kicked out’ she’d have found a suitable mother & baby home / temp accommodation until she got herself a council house. I wouldn’t say her mum holding one of the triplets to feed while she had the other two was taking full responsibility - it’s called lending a hand. She’d have managed just fine. It certainly would have been a struggle with little support but I can’t see many parents kicking their daughter out when she’s found out she’s expecting multiples.

Charlotte says “I didn’t know you could get pregnant the first time”, and it sounds ridiculous, but so many young girls think the same. It’s criminal on the part of their parents/ carers not to effectively educate their children. No young woman should not be aware of the consequences of their actions, even at thirteen. Although that does raise the issue of how someone as vulnerable as Charlotte could be “allowed” to get pregnant.

@@jadenicole6326 They deserve to be loved, absolutely. But if you know you are a carrier for genetic defects that will make a child's life very difficult, you shouldn't be selfish to bring kids into the world when you know very well they're going to suffer from conditions. I really don't understand parents who have 4 kids with brain defects, for example, and keep having more. I find it super selfish.
@BhappyD5 жыл бұрын
Angie While I agree to some extent, in this specific case, both Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy are usually not hereditary conditions, meaning they occur without being passed down by the parents. While Down Syndrome is technically a genetic condition, affecting the 21 chromosome, only 1% of all cases of Down Syndrome have a hereditary component (passed from the parent through genes). Cerebral Palsy on the other hand is not a genetic condition at all, and is usually the result of a complication that occurs during birth causing brain injury to the baby. It is not passed along through the DNA, and has no hereditary or genetic component. For the couple in this video, it seems that by chance they ended up with two disabled children, with two different conditions, both of which have an almost nonexistent chance of having anything to do with their hereditary DNA (CP having zero chance). While it’s rare for something like this to happen, it’s still possible, as we see here. Some may call it having horrible luck, but the couple shown here seems to feel very blessed to have two extraordinary children in which they see their potential rather than their limitations. The chance of them having another baby with DS or CP is no greater or less than anyone else. These conditions just happen. Of course there are certain factors that can make these things more likely to happen (old age, health status, etc), but given their young age and good health, it’s just a matter of chance, just like it would be for you or I. If they feel capable of raising and providing for another child, that is their choice, and seeing how responsible they are with their other children, it shouldn’t matter to anyone else. If they did have a hereditary condition that was passed down to both of their previous children, then I may agree with you, but that doesn’t appear to be the case here.

I think one of Charlotte's problems is that she just ...didn't deal with the pregnancy and the idea of having a baby at all. She just ignored being pregnant, didn't tell anyone, didn't prepare anything, wasn't even mentally prepared for it. It's like she didn't let herself (and her family) get used to the thought. And now she's having real trouble caring about her baby. It's like she's still ignoring reality. I think in cases like this, adoption would be a good option. Some people would love to have a child and might have been trying for a long time. This is really just unfair to the child.

However, aside from shoving a birth control pill down her daughter's throat every day, there's hardly more that she could've done to prevent it. You can't staple the girl's "parts" shut. Kids sneak out, don't listen to their parents, and find themselves in hot water. Even kids who were warned time and time again. There's only so much you can do if you have a willful teenager determined to do what they want.

It's quite obvious that Charlotte had underlying problems before she became a mum. She was taken into care at 11 and became sexually active while living in a children's home, giving birth at age 13. The fact that she found it so difficult to show affection and playful love towards her child is because she genuinely doesn't know how to. She looked very uncomfortable during the baby massage session. I'm surprised that her baby wasn't taken into care, or handed over to her parents from the beginning (although, the parents have a lot to answer for). She seems very immature; I would have thought she was 12 instead of a girl approaching 15. I really hope her baby doesn't develop emotional bonding issues later on in life.

Okay, so I've been doing some research to find out how these girls are doing now and here's what I've found: *Niccola* : She did go to university once the twins were older and graduated. She's also had another son *Melissa* : She had 3 more kids after Taya and, unfortunately, recently miscarried a baby girl *Charlotte* : So, I've read in the comments that Sophie was placed for adoption and I pray to God that that's true. Charlotte has recently given birth to a baby boy with her boyfriend of 4 years *Susie and Dax* : I've actually met Susie a few years ago. She went on and had 2 more kids and was planning on having another one. At the time I met her, she barely mentioned Dax, I had a feeling that they weren't as in love as in this documentary, like she talked about him in a business-like tone but that's my personal opinion, I might be wrong. They were still living on benefits *Simone and Dwayne* : They seem to be doing amazing! The kids are thriving. As his father said, Ivan is a little star. Because of his cerebral palsy, Lincoln is now unable to walk but he loves wheelchair racing. And Mia is an awesome gymnastic. Dwayne and Simone are still together and seem to still be very much in love I couldn't find anything about Tiffany and Natalie but if you have any information, comment down bellow

Funny how at start of this video I decided to look through the comments to see if there had been any updates (bc sometimes they are posted here) Being it's been almost 15 yrs. So a HUGE THANK U for going through the trouble and time of not only finding updates but posting them here. I'm pausing the video so I can read it lol

Charlotte is NOT properly caring for her baby. She needs to be taken into care and placed for adoption. Period.

Chris E This was filmed 15 years ago. Sophie was put up for adoption and is an adolescent. Charlotte is a woman in her late 20s.

Maybe Charlotte should have given her baby up.

Triplets at age 16... That must be the "jackpot" of teenage pregnancies. At least she has a supportive mother/grandmother and Nathalie sounds like she has a brain that's a start. She seems impressively content too.

Tiffany and nicola are so great together. I hope they remained friends. They would have been a huge help to each other. Having another young mom as a friend can make a world of difference. They can support eachother and they have a friendship and someone to spend time with, which is important considering that they cannot be normal teens anymore. So play dates with the kid's can give them time to hang out together and have a friend to talk to.
