I am a fellow Auto Mechanic and I was so glad to hear and see you return to making these excellent technical articles on vehicle diagnostics and repairs. I really missed your series and I thank God you are okay. I trust you know the Lord and that your life is in His hands. For God has brought "Life and Immortality" to light through the gospel. You are greatly appreciated. Thank you again for a great video. Thumbs Up.

Brilliant video, I sure like the way you emphasize diagnostics. Unforgettable. I also like the way you don't trash the previous mechanics, very classy.

Very nice Wayne. I get a lot of work from other shops and many in my area do not have guys who understand how much an o2 can wreak havoc on a pcm's ability to function properly. Great diagnosis and great video! Glad you are back!

Dwayne, I can tell you're getting better. Your speech is clearer than it was in the last video and it's apparent that you're healing. Your left arm is apparently still a problem but the fact that progress is being made is something that can never be overstated. All of us are rooting for your complete recovery. Keep up the hard work required for rehabilitation. I can see the positive results of your efforts. Never give up.

I love your videos man! I just passed my L1 but it is very clear I have so much to learn, I know it will never stop. You break it down almost perfectly and it's really rewarding and healthy for me to see how one of the old-timers that knows his stuff breaks it down. Every single time I watch your videos I learn something I didn't know. Thank you for posting and please keep on doing so.

Glad to see you back at it. Great explanation of process. Explain to your customer what to expect and then follow through with it. Make them aware this isn't waiving a magic wand over their car to fix it. There is a process involved in any diagnosis and sometimes it can be a little trickier than others.

I guess some "automotive engineers" watched too much "Star Trek,' and decided they only wanted Scotty & Spock to be able to diagnose automobile driveability problems. POINTS & CONDENSERS! Really, I'm glad there are people like yourself to deal with this stuff. I'd rather change ball joints on a full size Blazer!

I had a mid 90's Dodge Stratus that had a runaway idle that liked to frequently stop at about 2500 and would come and go. It was a bit maddening at red lights because it would jump off the line every time I let off the brake. I didn't have a scan tool at the time, but I was able to narrow it down (over a few months) to something really simple. The upstream O2 sensor wire had made contact with the exhaust manifold and had melted the insulation just enough that under certain conditions it would short out on the manifold pulling the circuit to zero causing it to hold on low. The PCMs response would be add more fuel causing the engine to rev up. Since this was a $900 car I bought for cash just to tide me over during lean times, I wrapped the wire in tape and zip tied the wire out of the way. The revving problem went away. I'm not a mechanic by trade, I work on computers, but the skills you can pick up from Duane are equally as valuable fixing PCs. Why does problem X only happen when Y is occuring. What do X and Y have in common. What parts to they use and/or what system files do they both use? etc.
