Kelly is a real estate agent who thought social distancing meant taking a break from instagram. Where someone went to school is not the be all, end all statement on their intellectual capacity, especially in the US where education is increasingly inaccessible to the less well off. Just because Kelly went to Colombia doesn’t mean she’s better than Bethany. If anything, it’s funny considering that such an esteemed “institution of higher learning” churned out such a monumental moron.

I wish more people understood this; I didn’t either, and I couldn’t figure out what the hell was up with some of my very close friends, then I became “woke” here is what it means, see if you can spot it in your friends, or anyone you’ve ever been super confused about (and for the record, I still laugh at these classic Kelly Bethenny scenes because wtf?): “Dissociation is a psychological experience in which people feel disconnected from their sensory experience, sense of self, or personal history. ... Dissociation often occurs in response to trauma and seems to have a protective aspect in that it allows people to feel disconnected from traumatic events” so I think Kelly must have adopted this as a coping strategy very young, and misuses it in situations that trigger her insecurity. And those situations will often seem so completely benign to most people, so it’s a shame we aren’t more educated about the symptoms of sexual abuse. It’s a shame on us as a society that we can gather for a virus considered a “pandemic” (which we’ve had many times in recent history, fyi) flipping our collective lids, but we are too “uncomfortable” with the idea of adults molesting children, or more commonly, family members, parents, molesting their own children, to rally behind what is statistically, a worldwide epidemic. Childhood sexual abuse. Incest. We should, must protect children at any cost to ourselves as adults.
