Humbles me when other artists struggle sometimes. We are all learning. Every day with every piece we do. It's always hard to not doubt yourself. But I'm working on that!! Beautiful piece!! One day I hope to do large scale drawings!

Jono... One of the things that has make you get better is how humble you are! You always talk about what you learned, the mistakes you made etcetera. My dad always told me. " The day you think you know everything, you'll stop learning "

THE PART WHEN U SAID " SO THAT'S THE FINISHED DRAWING" OMG JUST HOW MUCH OF AN ARTIST ARE U?!! SO GIFTED!!!👌👌💯💯
@YTuseraL26944 жыл бұрын
One of the best drawings I've ever seen! It really has a soul and it's unreal! One of the reasons why I like this guy's work so much is because it completely debunks that frequent notion how hyperrealism and it's sibling-styles (photorealism first among them) are purely decorative, and their only purpose is to induce that "whoa" impression on people. That is far from true, in fact hyperrealistic works make me to think and interpret things more often than abstract works, especially abstract expressionism!
@brendanbush21744 жыл бұрын
Its nice cause he added his own flair to it with the border and the unique honeycomb texture for the capillaries and its not an exact copy from an image which I see alot. I have an immense amount of respect for people who do hyper/photorealism, especially those who take it a little further and put something else in there
@verlagdashofer50004 жыл бұрын
Hi. What's the difference between hyperrealism and photorealism..Thnx..
@YTuseraL26944 жыл бұрын
@@verlagdashofer5000 the differences between them are tricky to explain because at first glance there is no obvious difference. First - intent. Photorealists, especially first generation of them (Chuck Close, Audrey Flack, Ralph Goings, Richard Estes etc) really wanted to depict what they were painting or drawing as realistic as possible - not much philosophy or words, but more artistic and technical prowess and skill + applying new technologies and mediums to their work (photography). That was a counter-attack on abstract movements which dominated the art world. Then, a bit later, Hyperrealists added something new. They added intent, narrative and it's not just about real knowledge and skill, but also that spiritual part. You could say that Hyperrealism is an augmented, advanced brother of Photorealism. It often produces surreal, unreal or more than real reality. As its name suggests, hyperreality, what human eye can't naturally capture. On the other hand, today's Photorealists, such as Peter Maier, Steve Mills, Raphaella Spence etc... are pretty much different than the first generations from the 60s and 70s. They are changing things, adding more details than before, and works are much more moving. Both movements are very compatible for combination with other styles too, including Abstract art. For you to orientate properly, examples of great contemporary hyperrealists are Jono Dry, Ruan Huisamen, Marco Grassi, Philipp Weber, Peter Hohsl etc...
@brendanbush21744 жыл бұрын
@@YTuseraL2694 That surpasses the definition I was about to send before I saw this. The line you wrote "... what the eye can't naturally capture" makes alot of sense in differentiating the two. Its reality, but with seasoning

I love drawing realistic portraits, but hyperrealism is like a whole new world to me. It's like seeing everything through a microscope. When asked what my favorite part of drawing a portrait is, I say, "the eyes", and here is Jono mentioning the landscapes of the iris, and I feel that I'm never spending enough time on either of these little details to truly appreciate them. Your videos remind me of that. Thank you, Jono!
