great video , would it work if say subject is watching a video on a hand held phone and camera pans from phone to subject showing them watching the screen or would the tracker loose its mind as soon as the camera starts to move?

What a complicated way to do such a simple thing. When you can use a couple of overlays on the color page to get the same result.

With a static image, maybe, but the planar tracker work way better if there's movement in the scene.
