Love the concept art bit. I think I will try this out for myself too

I feel the frustration with the traversable area and some insane habitat needs for small creatures. I was frustrated over this just yesterday in my own build. Not even just for this otter, but a lot of smaller animals seem to be this way. But, as always, awesome work Rudi! Love it.

Thanks. Yeah it's so confusing. Some are working fine. Some are a disaster

This is a main reason why I put my animals into the enclosure first and then check the traversable area as I go along with the building

I love the concept art and seeing the speed drawing of it too :) I definitely share your frustrations with the traversable area, I have been making a red panda habitat, coming back to the game after a long break, and the frustration of their traversable area (and also the glitchy climbing mechanic... backflips/moonwalking etc) has made me rage quite the game three times in two days! Having to make huge platforms for such tiny animals is saddening. I love this game but it can be infuriating at times when the mechanics stop the animals using things that you feel should make sense and be realistic/creative... Anyway, great habitat, I liked the water slide!!! Your Planet Zoo videos are super tier as always.

Yes absolutely. Hope one day they'll fix it

I'm struggling with red pandas too! Always when I start the game they're unhappy, claiming the the climbing area is to small (it's definitely big enough). Then I move a part of the climbing area and undo it afterwards. Then they're happy... So annoying!

Frontier: We made a tiny cute animal Also Frontier: We gave this tiny animal a hit box bigger than an African elephant, also it needs an entire ocean to make it dive

I thought, when seeing the thumbnail for the first time, that you built the habitat from an existing plan 😄🙈. Looks really awesome (both...your concept art and the actual habitat). 10:30 if the otters could climb, it would help to build something the animals can climb on, on the ground (as they somehow can traverse through much smaller spaces when climbing than when walking 🙈🙈).

I love this build. This looks insane. In my zoo the deep diving don't work. It is deeper than 3 meters. That game is sometimes very crazy. xD

Yeah weird

I find working with deep dive reqs being very frustrating with many animals frontier will most likely fix the land amount but for other animals and your not in sandbox its hard to have it all work. Great drawing though!

Thank you soooo much for making this video. I was going nuts trying to create habitats for the smaller diving animals!

Have you noticed the traversable area has a weird relationship with the world grid? I built a giraffe house, giraffes fit through the doors, which were squared with the world grid. Turned the house 45 degrees - and they no longer fit through the doors!!

I think the traversable are problem may be bc they're long, kinda like with crocodiles, to be able to get thru something it has to be wide enough for them to rotate in it, I'm not sure tho it may be just a internal problem with their hotbox being too big for the model

I just made a realistic habitat for these little fellas, but not sure about my rock colors.. what color faux rock do you recommend for them? I'm colorblind so looking up for inspiration is quite hard.. do you have any hexcode colors you would recommend?

Hi Rudi, it might be a little late to ask this, but I am very interested in the comment you put on your lakefront fence about the hyperrealistic lion habitat. You commented it is “a mixture of classic and modern.” How do you define this style?

Ok the house thing is ridiculous. In my zoo they seem to move okay and only thing I can complain about is that somehow they are able to jump like 2 m high 😂
@cptjackskyla52322 жыл бұрын
Stunning build as always, though I dont know if it's been said, but the number of animals, even the smaller ones, do affect everything in the space from ground to water and climbing... however I may be wrong about this.
@RudiRennkamel2 жыл бұрын
They only thing changing is the overall requirements. But not the space in itself. That's why it's so confusing
@cptjackskyla52322 жыл бұрын
It is a very confusing thing thats for sure. I don't know if this is something that is fix able for it since 2m might have been the lowest they could have gotten it to. All we can do is hope right? ^-^

Same problem here. The water volume I hade to build to make my Capybaras dive was ridiculously big. Their animations are beautiful but man they look so lost in this huge water volume. I am just not happy with it.

I have edited my origin text. Because I have tried it. Sea lions can swim in 1 Meter depth. All you have to do ist that you make two floors with the cube tool. So you can make the first floor with 4m height and place it 6m under the earth, so that you have 2m between this area and the ground level. Than use the cube tool and make the 2nd floor. The minimum is 4m but you can choose the height so that you can make a hole of 1m heigth upper the first floor and then dig a small hole from the second floor to the first floor, so that water can come to the first floor, than you have a water depth of 6m so that the sea lions can swim but they swim only on the second floor which has a depth of 1m. At last you can hide the hole with a stone so that you cant see anything of the first floor. Than it looks like the pool has the height of 1m and the sea lions swim there. I have tried it, it works.
