Nice 2100! I just got a 2100d that had no power for cheap. Turned out that the output transistors, a few resistors and the bias pots needed replaced. Did that and it works great! Was considering replacing the power switch on it but the original one worked fine so I kept the one I ordered as a spare. Such a great receiver, tons of power. Gotta get some Mach ones to go with it.

Nice collection of Realistic receivers. I'm still looking to get my hands on one.

Realistic receivers are so underrated I have a STA-2300 I purchased new back in the early 80s. It just needed to have the power button replaced. I use it to listen to music. It still sounds fantastic. I have other receivers and amps but I like the Realistic one. It's my favorite.

Hi William I had the sta2000-2100 and the 2100D and the 2300. Big stereos for sure but sounded good.

You have a great collection! I wired a relay with my switch when it started having problems. I never knew where to find the power switch back when it failed, but I guess with the internet today it can be found. I also had to volume control act up from time to time. They used a red/ green led and used a circuit to change the color. When you replaced the power switch did you wire both sets of contacts in parallel to share the current and extend it’s life?

Nice collection! I have a STA2170 I need to go through. One channel comes and goes when you turn the volume up and the meter on the weak side doesnt light up when that channel is having trouble. Bought that receiver new and I dont guess Ill ever part with it. I was thinking that maybe you could install a relay to take the load off that on/off switch since it is a little weak. It looked like you might have room for it in there just above and behind the switch. I love seeing those receivers being saved and loved.

Have you noticed how the left and right channels are unbalanced at low volume? Between 1 and maybe 3.5 on the volume dial?

I was referring about the STA-2100

It does, most likely needs a recap as well.

@@williamstaten8102 My tech told me the issue is the volume switch itself, it's a common issue. He is fixing it now. That drives me crazy because I don't play music at over three or five watts.
@williamstaten81025 жыл бұрын
@@cm2881 if caps are not the problem he's right. The best way to fix it is to put a resistor on the preamp output on the stronger side to balance it
