Thanks for this video. I like the timber of your voice, easy to listen to. I like your approach, the way you describe your work. I wouldn’t ordinarily listen to such a long video usually 20 minutes or less. But you explain things so well I was drawn to listen to all of it. Again, thank you for your work.

your explanations are particularly helpful and astute, the colors fabulous and yr teachers would-be proud of yr progress.... this was a lesson altogether...fun & funny ('eggplant feathers' 😁, octopi on steroids, amazing cacti & wisteria)... somehow i've 'suddenly' aggregated enough tutorials (not specific long term courses) & experimenting to know (& not feel sooooo overwhelmed) what to practice, use as warmups (who knew, though ii do it daily to maintain muscle flexibility before pilates)...& to remember to not expect finished pieces, rather to enjoy the process. Look forward to the next installment.

@TheCherrypipangel you are a delight...ii was referring to all yr brush stroke pages, probably the most clear verbal and visual explanation than any of the many, too fast /short you tube demos.... as for fingers (& footwork), Teresa tapp (now deceased) actually saved my joints (along with edgar cayce's castor oil pack recipe, joseph pilates reformer classes, & teresa's daily dry brushing sequence) through her T-Tapp workouts, which included a fingers/hand series that ii have been applying self to since 2004. Her many teachers still keep her legacy alive... ii had 3 serious slip-&-fall accidents over 20 years, all on the same side/location, & diligent DIY physical therapy, that included my art journey using non-dominant hand to teach/relearn the other side how to move has been my 'daily do' ... yep... warmups, like Celine dion's vocal arpeggios, my childhood piano teacher's scales, & even prayers on behalf of others... are (for me) what keeps childlike wonder & simplicity very basic, and allows for that timeless flow state where the art itself takes over, where colors & movement & joy & sound are seamless... kzbin.info/www/bejne/moKYmZeAmbtqh7Msi=l7uucb14nsw_QdBm

Crystal!I really enjoyed watching it. Sometimes I think you are too hard on yourself. It is beautiful! I recently fell in love with Daniel smith too. I went and bought green gold and the Colors of inspiration set. I have been thinking to have a sketch book for my watercolour work but i really enjoy the better quality papers. Watching your video made me want to give it another try lol.
@TheCherrypipangel4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed it and it’s true that’s easy to be hard on oneself! I agree that painting on the better papers is great but I have also found that using the slightly less impressive sketchbook paper has kept me on my toes and forced me to work harder… and then the more expensive paper really feels easy to work on after that 😉 There are also some very fancy watercolour sketchbooks with great watercolor paper - I recently invested in some Arches paper sketchbooks and the signature series sketchbooks from Etchr with Fabriano paper. You can find a video testing and reviewing all of these fancy sketchbooks on my channel actually - so if you are interested in having the same quality of paper you’re used to in your pads/blocks but in a book format, that might be for you… I also always love to travel everywhere with a sketchbook, that’s the major advantage and my sketchbook lives in my handbag 🤫 And now I will stop being carried away by my passion for discussing sketchbooks! 😂 Thanks for the comment and let me know if you give sketchbooks another try 🥰🫶💎

So glad you found this helpful! There are actually quite a few of the pigments that are streaky, and I dived deep into this in my latest video that I just posted - a tour of my Daniel Smith Madness sketchbook where I tested sketching with all 238 of the Daniel Smith watercolours from the dot cards. And some of the pigments are a disappointment, others a delight. And the video is finally up! Maybe there's a few more pigments that want to see close up 😊💎💙

Crystals. Would you recommend Inge’s course for an absolute beginner?
@TheCherrypipangel2 ай бұрын
Inga’s course would work well for a beginner if you’ve at least already held a brush before and made some paint marks - for an absolute beginner having never touched watercolor, I’d recommend Laura McKendry’s course first as a playful intro, and then Inga’s second. Because Inga does go on to quite precise and relatively advanced techniques, it’s hard to fully benefit from it without some basic crash course first. But it’s definitely worth it and one of my favourite courses of all time 🥰
